View Full Version : Catachan Armored Regiments?

So I was just wondering, would having a very mechanized Guard army with heavy tanks using Catachan Infantry still keep the theme? I know every planet usually has multiple regiments, for example Elysians still have Mech and Artillery Regs.

I was thinking if I camo'd up the Tanks, make them look more like Vietnam era Armored units it might look good.

Catachans have armored regiments too. They have to be prepared for everything.

Yeah they do, though certain tanks probably see less use. I think youd see more Eradicators, Hellhounds and Demolishers due to their jungle type specialisation in the background if you wanted to keep it fluffy. That doesnt mean they wouldnt have access to any Imperial tanks, just I imagine some would see less use than others.

Dozor blades for all!

I remember reading somewhere that the catachan tankos love the hellhound above basically every other tank. I think it was in the old catachan codex or a WD.

If I remember IA1 correctly they make use of griffons and chimeras with flamer turrets

Catachan armoured regiments are ... ill-suited for "blitzkrieg" style warfare.
However, they have proved to be very effective in city-fighting. Their ability to deal with difficult terrain and focus on high-powered, short fange and flamer weapons works very well in urban enviroments.

Remember that scene at the beginning of predator? Did someone say...Punisher (http://www.gifsoup.com/view/294283/preadtor-minigun-rampage.html)?? Those guys are definitely Catachan, and I bet they wouldnt say no to a tank mounted version.
