Hi 'Seers,

I was helping a junior in our local club do up his WitchHunters/SoB list and noticed that the exorcist in particular is AUD$100 while FW offers its version for only GBP28.60 + 10% postage.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Reported so that this gets taken down quick and GW doesn't notice :P
Check also Leman Russ, Landraider, Dreadnoughts,
I don't actually see how GW could enforce it tho: unless they forced you to pay in your 'local' currency from the same site, or charged Aus customers 115% shipping.....

For gods sake man, delete your post!
I'm suprised they haven't done it already.

With the current prices for the main range Forgeworld gets increasingly attractive even without GWOz pricing retardation.

At least that is a real "premium" resin product.

Yep the gulf between the basic bog standard "GW proper" and the "for advanced painters and modellers" FW is getting shorter all the time.

Its only a matter of time before "GW proper" prices surpass FW and FW will be seen as the discount way to play 40k.

Exactly.

As soon as I offload my remaining SoB and Eldar, Im investing in 2 SW Ven Dreads, arms included, and a couple of tanks.

I'm considering starting DKoK, embargo + local prices make it a viable army. Hope GW don't see this :D

They're just worried GW will notice and tack on a 100% extra shipping and handling charge for orders outside of the EU.

I don't think it has gotten quite that bad yet. For most things anyway.

Though for an extra $3 I think I would rather have the FW Ogryn (even though it is Chaos).

Other things are not nearly as close though. The various IG Command squads are almost twice as expensive as the GW one. Battlesuits cost an extra $15 (though those suits probably look twice as good). A squad of Death Korps is about twice as expenisve as GW Cadians.

I won't even pay GW prices for this stuff. No way am I ever paying FW.

Eh, maybe they will leave the FW stuff 'cheaper' in order to appease the vets. We love the hobby, so we go buy cool FW stuff. You know what we'll need to accompany that FW stuff on the table top? GW stuff.

So in the end, because FW was cheaper, you stayed in the hobby and kept giving them money.

Find some other forge world stuff to buy, then place an order for over 250 pounds. That way, you'll get free shipping.

If the people in the league will allow your young witch hunting friend to use repressors, I'd suggest getting some of them too. Repressors are really cool.

According to some people, 250 pounds isn't that much more than what GW would ask for a normal army anyhow. (admittedly, you'll get more stuff. That is, more cheap plastic and diluted resin with bad casting issues.)

I'm struggling to see any difference between the models as well, aside from slightly different Las cannon sponsons what exactly do you get for your money?

Oh! This link should interest you Aussies:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Games_Workshop_Kits

The prices are still bad, but it beats 55 dollars a rhino by a long shot, and comes out to about the same as us Americans pay.

Please share this information with anyone you doesn't already know.

EDIT:

It's disgusting that Forgeworld actually looks like a viable option for budget gaming/hobbying in several parts of the world.

If google is correct in their currency conversions it's cheaper to buy from Forgeworld for Americans too if you buy enough to get the free shipping(roughly a 3 dollar difference).

Bigger sponson lascannons and a different turret.

My Wraithseer worked to about $52 US, with shipping, as opposed to the standard Wraithlord cost of about $44 when you figure out tax.

Yeah, FW are becoming a good deal (and this just in, Hell reports its second snowfall within the year!)

Ripper swarm from GW
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/ca...Id=prod1050159

with ripper swarms from FW
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhamme...ER-SWARMS.html

price for one is about 5.45 pounds (16.40 for 3 bases) next to 7.20 from GW.

For what its worth the folks over in FW are on this site. Dunno if y'all remember it but they had a judge dredd RPG in the index for their site, obviously this wasnt supposed to see the light of day and was just something they had in there for themselves.

Somebody posted the link to the index where we could all go in and have a look at the RPG as well as some other stuff that wasnt supposed to be there. A few hours later it was taken down from the FW site.
