I have been building up my Dark Eldar forces over the last few months and I now have a decent amount of models finished but I'm terrified about taking them anywhere for a game due to all the spikes and thin details and the long thin trophy poles on the raiders.

I have lots of GW model cases but they aren't great with spikes and long thin details.

So my question is how do the DE players transport there models safely without snapping bits off?

I just chuck 'em in a Raider box and hope for the best. So far only one bit has broken over half a year. I don't put all the spikiest and flimsiest bitz on them though.

Buy an army case with customizable slots for units and such. I can recomend a motorpool by armytransport.

I also have this problem I have 4 raiders and 3 ravagers to transport. Where the hell does one find a suitible case for them that doesnt look rediculous?!?

I use an Aluminium Flight Case from Maplin - has the depth and pick and pluck foam inside - with the right plucking I suspect you would be able to transport 4 (5 might be a push). The case itself is light and quite tough.

I will take some more pics of actual transportation, but start here:

http://shotdownmind.blogspot.com/p/dark-eldar-project.html

Bases, Sails, mast, weapon, crew (driver, gunner, and the hangers) magnetized or pinned, mostly magnetized, some just for convienance, mostly for transport.

Then the vehicles go in pistol case nicely arranged with egg foam. The guys in a guy transport. (My bases are magnetised, so they just stand in a magnetized box.) The bases and sail go in small tupperware with leftover foam for custom fit. Crew and weapons go in another.

Im sure I could fit it all into a Battlefoam carrier, just havent yet. Thats a lot of work. Magnetize your stuff.

Try KRMulticase- you can customise what foam trays are included, and there is a wealth of options from cheap (but strong) cardboard, to aluminium on wheels.

I get foam from fred meyers/walmart type stores. Then I cut to shape the models. Works out pretty inexpensive, then I put them in a large box or other army transport type case. Works well for things like Dark eldar and my legion hordes.

I am saving for a KR Multicase at the moment.

The previous editions dark Eldar miniatures were a lot more robust
