Ah Tagsta! I want to know how you got the blue that dark because my blue usually seems to come out light. I need a simple guide like "this colour, then this, drybrush this etc" or soemthing in that kind of format.
Liking the familiar, looks kinda 'nid head-ish. Dont really like the black/white combo on the wepons though. I prefer the black casing with all the metal parts in a metallic colour.

no problem..
black undercoat
2 thin layers of ultramarines blue

The only thing I saw that needs fixing is the meltagunner's gun and respirator look very thick, and should probably be highlighted.

yeah I know the feeling (and hate it) so I better join you in the posting :)
the blue looks good but could be thined a bit and a bit mor e highlighted, considerd blacklining? it would look awsome on these. The white looks a bit thick to and the bleached bone to flat and could be painted in many thinned layers to achive a better look. hope this helps. the minis look almost great only small things to do and they will improve alot

I know about these problems and think I finally managed to improve them... Some of the minis I posted here are over 1 year old..
I re-did most of my army and because of that you can find these different quality differences

Whoa havent seen this thread in a long time. They look great tagsta. The thunderhawk looks good. Did you lengthen the lightning claws on sicarius?
Love the action shot of your army with the smoke and stuff.

This is a great example of how "tabletop-quality" minis can be made to look very spectacular and professional on the web by applying Photoshop techniques and a nice gradient background. Well done and I enjoyed your action shots.

I need to take photshop 101! My pics tend to look like crap. Nice painting. I especially like your freehand on the standard.

exactly... Photographing miniatures is not easy...Good models can look crappy if you take pics under horrible light conditions..
I have to say that I didn't use much photoshop on the ordinary pics.. The only function I used was "levels" to re-adjust the colours...
The battlefield scene was done by a friendly user fromthe B&C forum.. He is called "Chaptermaster Greymantle" Cheers to him

I was only referring to the light blue faded background, not any added details or smoothed colors. Just that little touch adds a real professional look to your models that makes people look twice. Anything more coming? Lets see a new paint job eh!
