Shameless, I know.

Well if you're like me this hobby can be broken down into some easy percentages:

15% Gaming
40% Painting
20% Collecting
25% Planning

I'm sure everyone has different percentages, however those are mine. Anyway I've still got a way to go on my Sylvanian Empire army before we can move on to another project, however it occurred to me the other day that with no more Empire models to buy I have nothing to plan. Nothing to save up for. Nothing to anticipate.

I've had a few themes bouncing around in my head, and I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Kinda interested to see you pull off Bretonnian Hobbits.

Halflings of the Realm on donkeys? Yeah!

I went with Greek-themed Dark Elves, but HE-Undead would be amazing, too.

The greek thing has been done. I want to see the hobbit knights :D

Oh man, you guys are killing me! I was hoping one theme would tear off ahead of the others.

i said Ogres, but instead of HE themed undead, why not undead themed HE? :)

Thought about HE themed undead, that would be pretty cool, but in the end the hobbits take the cake. I really hope you do that one and then show us lots of pictures!

Cathayan Dwarves without question.

To me, the bret hobbits would be all too similar to Tenisons Gobbo-brets.

I would go greek themed DE. Or, if the greek thing as been done before, romans would work.

I really do want to do a roman TK army. But have never had the time or money.

Where? I'd love links if you have them.

Don't you have another project to finish first?

Anyway, I've seen Spartan themed Dark Elves before, which were cool, but as Mal said, it's been done.
Bretonnian-themed Hobbits sounds nice, but the concept is fairly close to Lt. Dougheim's magnificent Moot army.
My vote is for Arabyan Ogres.

I voted arab ogres just the thought of them looking like fat huge versions of sinbad tickled me.

But while being tickled by this it also dawned on me that the greek/spartan thing has been done but has a 300 style persians been done you know with grotesque immportals and a crap tonne of twisted up humans, could be a good Mauraders of Chaos thing perhaps???

for all those that wanted it spartan themed dark elves http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=63075&start=60

Cathayan Dwarves.

Armour somewhat similar to Chaos Dwarves, but with more curves and flows rather straight edges, that is if you are converting the armour to move away form the more Viking like theme of GW's dwarfs.

There's also the weapons, a samurai/cathayan long sword is going to be necessary. Though I think this should be limited to Lord's and thanes.

And i don't think you could miss the chance of making slayers into some sort of martial art fiends. No armour some robes, maybe not so much Ninja but rather like monks that specialise in weapons training (their name really escapes me)

Then of course there's the artillery (Gunpowder:evilgrin:) and Ironbreakers as heavily armoured samurai warriors.

I just think this concept has a lot of potential for original conversions, and the others do too, but not to the extent of this one.

Arabyan Ogres should work out quite well.

I would love to see a unit get charged by a mass of Hobbit knights and loose.

Cathayan Dwarves.

Just because I can picture it the best.
Long thin moustaches, little dwarf samurai armour, Hammerers wielding Great Katana's instead, cannons with the beak of a dragon instead of a muzzle, etc..

Excite-ment.

Went with HE undead just because I love converted undead armies but the Bretonnian hobbits sound epic too!

I would love to see a Hobbit/Halfling army themed around the Brettonian list!

I too voted for the Knights of the Shire, if only because I can giggle manically at thoughts of the Goblin Bretonnian's and the Halfling Bretonnian's jousting with sausages while riding pigs.

So have you reached a decision?
