So here is basically everything I've finished painting so far for my Cryx army. I've got a Cankerworm to finished up (nearly done) and Mort and two warwitch sirens to start on.

This is the basic theme my whole army has: dark blue and dirty silver/grey. I use Citadel paints for all my models. Everything is sprayed white for the base coat, but often I'll then paint the model black.

The blues usually start out as midnight blue, going up into regal blue and then enchanted blue. Weapons are all blue as well. There's usually a black wash then before more enchanted blue as a dry brush highlight. For some things, like weapons, there is an extra highlight of ice blue.

The silver is Chainmail silver which is then given a black wash. I usually do this wash at the same time as the blue, basically meaning the whole model is washed all over at once. After the wash the dirty silver is usually fine to leave as is.

Denny's skin starts off as a mix of dwarf and elf flesh, which then has a bit of space wolf grey and ice blue added to it for different layers/highlights.

The weapons are blue all the way up to ice blue, but they then get blue ink over them, which darkens them slightly and makes them look a little glossy. This was also done for the pipes on Denny's chest.

My Slayer, painted the same way as Denny. There's actually not a lot of silver on my Warmachines. Mostly they are a dark blue.

The bases are sand painted black and then given blue dry brushes from midnight blue -> regal blue -> enchanted blue. The gaps are paint the same but then there is ice blue added before some watered down blue ink.

Three of the 6 mechanithralls I've got painted. The skin is usually a watered down grey or purple that is then given a black wash before a highlight of fortress grey. Sometimes I even used catachan green as the first colour.

Because I get the skin colour from applying a watered down layer I don't paint these models black after base coating.

The Withershadow Combine. Not much to say except the grey robes are just black with dry brushes of codex and then fortress grey over the top. Really fast and easy to paint.

Necrosurgeon and stitch thralls. The skin on the Necrosurgeon started off all greys, unlike denny which had more flesh tones first (but denny is alive and the necrosurgeon is dead) Care was taken not to get the first layer of paint in the eyes and a black wash was used to then darken up the edges of the mouth and nose. Light greys and some skull white was used in highlighting. I hate painting flesh so was rather happy at how this came out.

The stitch thralls were painted using the same technique as the mechanithralls, so were not painted black after the base coat. Instead of grey or purpe browns and leather colours were used. Bleach bone was also used in highlighting, as was some skull white. If the highlights get too much it was just washed over with a dark brown to blend it back together.

Finally for now my defiler and one of my two deathrippers.

The bone is painted scorched brown first, then usually vermin brown, bleach bone and then skull white is used for the highlights.

Got you on the PP gallery list. You'll need bigger pictures here, I believe. Shoot me a pm if you want me to tell you how I do my plog pics.

I'll muck around with them, but all of them are currently links to the full size pics on photobucket, which are a bit too large to shown fall sized here.

They still come up pretty small when you click the link.
