Has anyone had a 2 vs one game yet? does it work with the rules well or does it end up really unbalanced?

Well, if it's 2 players who both have the same amount of points each as the single opponent, it's pretty unbalanced :D

If the team of 2 has a pointstotal equal to that of the single opponent, it should be balanced. 2000 vs 2000 is still equal, regardless of wether one side has 2 or more generals, apart from the normal unbalacing factor called Player Skill ;)

A 'Last Stand' would work though for 2 v 1 with equal points/player

Or have the single player run 2 armies instead of 1.

There is the Alliances section in the BRB, it gives some especial rules for alliances.

what used t0 unbalance this games was magic in 7th (2 d6 single player vs 4 D6 dual player just at the start) but with the magic winds it gets balanced.

also, multiplayer games is really fun, we have played 12,500 points games with 5 players, and it was so funy that we agree to do 1 or 2 megabattles a year.

For a straight-forward battle with an odd number of players, it should work fine if the armies on each side are matched in points size. E.g.

Tom, Dick and Harry:
3600 points Empire
2000 points Dwarfs
1600 points High Elves

Bob and Dave:
3600 points Orcs & Goblins
2000 points Orcs & Goblins
1600 points Orcs & Goblins

While both alliances total 7200 points, it's not quite the same to spend min. 1800 points on core as it is spending min. 900 points plus min. 500 points plus min. 400 points. Also, the Special/Rare repeats favor the side using multiple armies.
