No black templars? when I think of armageddon I think of them and steel legion marching side by side! (I think their was a cool picture with Space Marines and Man going toe to toe with Orks).

black templar list is really old :) so i don't select them bu maybe for a second poll in future :) because i will make 3 or 4 space marines armies on armageddon

Fair enough, perhaps one of the lesser known chapters then, so that your army is a little different to everyone elses.

The Black Templars are one of the iconic chapters in the third war for Armageddon, so they should be in the list. They even have their own codex and models...

You make me make feel guilty not to have put it, it will be for next time :D

Do you mean you want to start an armageddon Chapter or wish to learn more about The Chapters stationed on Armageddon? (http://web.archive.org/web/20001212180500/www.armageddon3.com/English/Campaign/Troops/imp_forces.html)

If its the former... Raptors! Death world veteran Marines!?! oh yes.

Whilst I voted for Exorcists as they have a truly brilliant background, the Celestial Lions and Mortificators would be other interesting choices to take :)

I think the Mortifactors look great, so I voted for them. :)

Has to be Blood Angels really, 2nd war was a major part of their fluff.

Even Marneus Calgar decided that it was more tactically sound to have Dante as the
Supreme Commander!

Space Wolves get a good shout with the 1st war, but they did need 100 G.Knight Terminators to bail them out.

Can I add Marines Malevolent? Got to love their attitude...

Can't you do a crusade-style army, with a strike force composed of squads and units from different chapters?

After the long attrition of Armageddon I reckon the fighting structure would be pretty raggedy-ass.

yes i will probably put it for the next poll :) with Black templar, they are only 10 answer to poll so i do make a choise :)

I have for objective to make a gigantic apocalypse with many space marines and IG regiment, and .... orks :)
so this poll is for the first SM army who will be make, i will probably make an other poll when the first chapter army will be finsih.

at final i will probably make 4 or 5 marines armies because my ork army have ~~ 20 000 to 30000 pts :)

Yes, even Marneus Calgar wants to be like Dante....

In no particular order my top three from Armageddon III
Blood Angels. Black Templars. Salamanders.

I'd have to go for the Salamanders, but the Flesh Tearers would be pretty cool too.

I know its already been said, but the BT's have just gotta be in there for Armageddon.

When I think back to the third war for Armageddon I remember mostly Salamanders and Black Templars, probably because they got new lists for it. So in the absence of Black Templars I'll vote Salamanders.

Celestial Lions. Have to love a chapter that stands up to the Inquisition.

do something different, if your going to do an 'official' chapter do a less well known one, e.g.. exorcists, celestial lions, mortificators rather than salamanders blood angels

anselminus

i will make the army in relation with history of chapter :)

Black Templars, seriously, crusader knight marines who chain their weapons to themselves so as to never drop them in battle?

Plus, they are the iconic Armageddon chapter. Besides, they also look a little more interesting than the same power armour painted red/green/blue whatever. If your main concern for discounting them is the age of their codex then just use the standard Codex: Space Marines rules instead.

Why no Black Templars? Salamanders are probably best now, though.

The Exorcists have some serious versatility since they can also be used for the 13th Black Crusade, the Badab War and the Gothic War.. However I don't know if they ever actually set foot on Armageddon - the Emperors Shield IA noted them as being deployed to the systems warm jump points to try and stem the flow of ork reinforcements.

If your looking to eventually do a massive multi-chapter force I'd go for Blood Angels, Salamanders, Marines Malevolent and Storm Giants: those are the chapters who fought to retake Hive Tempestora, not to mention the fact that the BA codex even has rules for Captain Tycho specific to that battle.
