More pics up on my blog (http://cmdante.blogspot.com) of my entry to this year's Golden Demon which took Bronze in 40k Vehicle Category (http://cmdante.blogspot.com/2011/10/golden-demon-uk-2011-40k-vehicle-bronze.html).

Lots of good entries again this year so pleased to have placed. As I was pushed for time (2 weeks from clean up and build to finished) I feel there are plenty of areas I could do better/more on without the time pressure.

Tried plenty of new things on this model, including using enamels, AK Interactive weathering products, Mr Super Metallics, making icicles and making my own decals, so expect plenty of articles on these topics on my blog and in here soon (a different sort of project log - in reverse!).

Cheers,

Dante

Wow I hate you even more now.... Not only are you a better painter then me; you have a golden demon, have my favourite version of my favourite miniature and you didn't spend games day shouting at a bunch of kids! :) lol

Congrats on the bronze didn't get a chance to see many entries but glad I got to see this in person!

Maggot out .

Ha, actually I did shout at some kids at one point for trying to que jump in the sales stand line - pesky kids!

Thanks for the kind words. Wasn't sure it was going to place for much of the day as it was buried on a low shelf in a half empty cabinet for much of the day so it was a nice surprise to see it in the top shelf towards the end of the day!

*cries* So beautiful!!

Thanks

I saw that at Games Day, it was at the cabinet next to my questionable Blight Drone :p Great paintjob and snow effects, still think you deserved better than a bronze :D

Good job as usual CMDante, though i think it should have ranked higher :).
I must also point out that i hate you, as im trying to resist picking up a Contemptor of my own. Seeing yours just makes me want one even more :cries:........:D

Awesome paintjob! Very realistic. :D

This year's Golden Demon really inpired me to evolve as a painter (much thanks to your criticism) and try every new and interesting technique I can find. So I'll definately be keeping an eye on your blog in the future. Hopefully I'll see you backstage next year as well and this time say hi. ;)

Cheers lads.

Guilliman, totally agree, I came away this year feeling more invigorated to paint and model than I did so last year.

Already planning entries for next year!

Cheers,

Dante

I've added a new post to my blog which talks about the AK Interactive Streaking Grime (http://cmdante.blogspot.com/2011/10/ak-interactive-streaking-grime-and.html)products I used - it can be found here (http://cmdante.blogspot.com/2011/10/ak-interactive-streaking-grime-and.html).
