Hi there!

How do you pronounce names of Chaos Gods?

My suggestions:
Khorne - Horn
Nurgle - Nur-gul
Slaanesh - Sla-nesh
Tzeentch - Tzi-nch

Any ideas?

I kinda preferred it as:

Khorne- korn
Nurgle- Nur-gel
Tzeentch- chen-tik

But that's me... I'm guessing these names are kinda "who the hell cares how you pronounce 'em"...

Khorne-Corne
Nurgle-Nur-gule
Slaneesh-Sla-neesh

Slaneesh-Sla-neesh
Tzeetch-Zeech

Bang on for the first three, darn close on the fourth.

Tzeentch - just like it looks - Tzeent-ch. The first *t* is pronounced like the *t* in *tsk-tsk*, almost silent.

That's from the Studio.:D

Well, I always aim to pronounce them as though all the letters were there for a reason, as though "that's the closest we can come to spelling this word." So I slightly aspirate K'horne, and draw out the "n" slightly, since the "e" would do so, but I don't use a lengthened or shortened "o," but rather keep the soft "o" since the "e" is too far away... Bearing in mind that these spellings were built for speakers of English, and thus would use English pronunciation conventions.

Slaanesh, since GW spells is Slaanesh and not Slaneesh, I would lengthen the "a" slightly, and use a short, soft "e" - its placement would harden the second "a," but would _not_ make for a hard "ee" sound. Accent would be on the first syllable, in my books [simply because of the lengthening of the "a"].

The other two are also quite simple. Of course, that's from a perspective of someone whose early geeking involved figuring out the best conventional way to pronounce Cthulhu, Nyharlathotep, and Tsathoggua.

Tzeentch - [tsi:nt∫]
Khorne - [ko:n]
Nurgle - [n3:gl]
Slaanesh - [Sla:ne∫]

That's phonetics-style, roughly :). Of course, that's the British way, which is the only proper one :D.

In Nurgle, you can have a schwa between [g] and [l], but the server doesn't allow for such symbols. Sam thing with Slaanesh, but I'm not sure :)

Long live phonetics and phonology! :P

Personally, I've always pronounced them as follows:

Korn, Nur-gul, Zeen-ch and Slar-nesh.

And, for Calicojack's mythos pronounciation. Ku-thul-hoo, Ny-yar-lath-ho-tepp and Sar-thog-wah :)

Sl-harh-neesh - Slaanesh
Cor-Nh - Khorne
Tz-En-tch - Tzeentch
Nurg-elh - Nurgle

Note this is an attempt to write them phoenetically - without using phoenetics.

Just pronounce the Demon's name three times. If it appears, your pronounciation was right :p

Well I don't really say Khorne's name. Usually I simpily yell a lot, then climb atop a table and begin throwing things. Mostly sharp things.
