View Full Version : choose a planet!

30-11-2011, 12:34
if you lived in the 40k universe and you could live on any planet you wanted to, which one would you choose?

30-11-2011, 12:39
Terra, no fear of ever having to go to war.

30-11-2011, 12:40
Macragge. Tyranids aren't likely to come back that way now.

30-11-2011, 12:47
Prospero before the Heresy.
The cities were beautiful places to live.
Restaurants that knew exactly what you wanted, etc.

I could then show my copies of A Thousand Sons/Prospero Burns to Ahriman and they would be able to repel the Space Wolves before the planet was destroyed.
Forcing Russ to negotiate and then they might discover the real reasons for the assault.
Such that suddenly Russ and Magnus become the firmest of friends and go kick Horus's ass before he even gets to Terra. :D

I bet the weather is nice on T'au.

Spleen Hammer

Buttcrackus Prime, because of the great cuisine and surfing year round.

Mr. Ultra
30-11-2011, 13:48
Fenris. I've heard it's an enjoyable place for winter sports and kraken hunting.

30-11-2011, 13:52
Terra, no fear of ever having to go to war.

Earth is a hive world, so gang warfare is likely endemic. Plus, you might still end up drafted into the PDF and Imperial Guard.

30-11-2011, 13:59
Prandium, 1,000 years before the Tyranids arrived. ;)

30-11-2011, 14:17
Birmingham (The Black Planet)

Oh hang on, I'm already there! :D

It's a well know fact that the Sallies are everyones mate. I could have a few over for poker night or if I was out on the town and couldn't get a cab I'm sure I could coax a green marine into being my designated driver for the night.

Further more I'm sick of always getting sunburnt (pesky pale skin). If I was a native of nocturne I'm sure my complexion would save me from damn freckles.

30-11-2011, 15:41
Random undiscovered and uninhabitated planet #5189. No xenos, no imperium, no neighbors, no problems.

Chaos shouldnt be attracted to a single person, and as long as I don't fiddle with any egyptian looking artifacts I might find, things should be ok.

30-11-2011, 16:05
I'd like to be on some out-of-the-way agri-world.

30-11-2011, 16:09
Ithaka... water and land... and some space marines for protection...

30-11-2011, 16:29
I'd chil on a craftworld, little unforeseen threat to your home and plenty of time to learn stuff. Also no backasswards tech

30-11-2011, 16:34
Hmm, Macragge or Prospero before Heresy both seem nice :D

Brother Captain Lucian
30-11-2011, 16:39
Totally Krieg....

on the other hand, ill just stay where i am now :>

30-11-2011, 16:40
A nice paradise planet, in one of the less densely populated parts of the universe, far away from anything really dangerous, and just out of the way enough for the Imperial taxcollectors to have forgotten all about the planet.

30-11-2011, 16:44
I always thought it would be nice to open a cosy little café on Titan. Cushy pillows on huge couches, incense, candles and relaxing music ... best latte in the system ... I'd be able to rob all those stressed out Grey Knights blind; and they'd even thank me for it.:D

As an added bonus it is probably the safest (and cleanest) neighborhood in the most heavily fortified system ever.

Crowe is on the black list ... that dumb-ass sword would ripple my pond.

30-11-2011, 17:22
One of the Exodite worlds. What's not to like about lush jungles and dinosaurs when surrounded with Eldar technology?

30-11-2011, 18:12
I would say Macragge, just by virtue of it being heavily defended while also being quite pleasant and far removed from the urban hell of a Hiveworld. The only downside is if an Ultramarine ever pisses off an enemy, they are going to come knocking.

Prospero is nice. Apart from the psychic brain parasite monsters that is. That really affects tourism.

30-11-2011, 19:20
tryzan is coming to ultramar but I would still live there, those planets are a lot like the current earth, and would be apeacful as you could get in the 40k universe

30-11-2011, 19:21
A pleasure world.....

Inner Ultramar

Mainly anywhere in Ultramar at least people there are reasonable and Ultramarines are benevolent rulers

30-11-2011, 20:56
Earth is a hive world, so gang warfare is likely endemic. Plus, you might still end up drafted into the PDF and Imperial Guard.

Living on Terra implies that I would be rich.

30-11-2011, 21:05
Macragge for sure. Peaceful, civilized, and the boys in blue as eternal protectors! whats not to like?

Cry of the Wind
30-11-2011, 21:26
Terra would be ok if you have a nice job, otherwise I could see it being a little bit like any other Hive. Still must be nice to be able to say you live on the same planet as your god. I like the Nocturne too, friendly marines and a simple life.

30-11-2011, 22:31
Catachan! Life is not worth living if you can't fight for your life just to get the paper in the morning.

30-11-2011, 23:05
Be sure to mention me in your will.....

30-11-2011, 23:44
Terra, M3?

01-12-2011, 01:43
T'au of course. All the benefits of being on Terra (safety and no chance of war), with none of the drawbacks (Massive overpopulation, terrible living conditions, Imperial rule).

Upon failing that, any other sept world. They seem to be pretty nice places, and don't get attacked anywhere near as much as other places.

01-12-2011, 02:07
Something agri- or pleasure-world esque to the galactic south of Terra.
If any of the common threats wants to attack that region it has to get through the entire galaxy first.

01-12-2011, 02:18
Valhalla, without a doubt.

01-12-2011, 02:30
Don't forget to leave me your boots and fur hat when you know....could use your socks too

01-12-2011, 02:36
Don't forget to leave me your boots and fur hat when you know....could use your socks too

Haha will do!

01-12-2011, 02:37
Macragge or terra......assuming I'm not a pysker that is.

Does the Rock count as a planet? Because its protected by a dark angel fleet and can warp out of danger...

The bearded one
01-12-2011, 02:56
a planet in the realm of Ultramar is usually a good bet. Any paradise world will be great as well and many of the Tau planets, with the slight drawback you'll be having to do whatever work you have to for whatever caste you're in. If you're there as an outsider, outside the castes living in peace, it'd be great.

01-12-2011, 04:11
Terra, M3?

hmph, same. Slaanesh hasn't been born yet, so no Eye of Terror. Terra is in the same stage of development as we are here, so I don't have to relearn the party lines. We haven't been to Mars, yet, so we don't have to worry about waking and pissing off Necrons, accidentally. We aren't good enough in a fight to attract Ork attention. 'Nids are 37M away. We're dirty Mon'keigh, so the Eldar avoid us. Nobody else is developed enough to come near us.

All we have to worry about is the non-working trying to turn the working into indirect slaves, and destroying the world economy.

01-12-2011, 05:04
Tanith, I heard its nice there.

01-12-2011, 06:26
A paradise world in the middle of Ultramar. However, Terra during the Dark Age of Technology (the early to middle part of it) would be better.

01-12-2011, 06:36
I'll go ahead and say it...

just cause...

01-12-2011, 07:27
Clearly with hindsight I'd want to be born on some out of the way lovely and quiet planet. Knowing my luck I'd be born the day before angron shows up to armaggeddon

Commissar Merces
01-12-2011, 13:45
Armageddon. Just to prove my worth.

01-12-2011, 13:49
Tanith, I heard its nice there.

If asteroids and dust is good for you then go for it.....:p

01-12-2011, 19:37
Macragge is the absolute choice for me

01-12-2011, 20:00
Necromunda, but only as a Spyrer.

01-12-2011, 23:23
Necromunda, but only as a Spyrer.

Sod that - Necromunda as Lord Helmawr! :D

02-12-2011, 00:08
No.5 House of Pain
City of Festering Fear
Planet of the Damned
Eye of Terror

Wish you were here :)

02-12-2011, 04:59
It'd have to be "The Rock" for me.
