Hey guys - just a quickie

In the new VC book is the only way of being able to raise skeletons above starting number to have a necromancer with Master of the Dead?

Therefore (stating the obvious) a vampire (the powerful casters that control the force in the first place) cannot raise skeletons above their starting number...

Well thats more than a little silly? - the master of necromantic magic are less adept at it than their 'acolytes'

It is only common sense to delegate the menial task of assembling the shambling hordes to the subservient Necromancer. After all, a true conqueror does not sully his hands with work. That is for the soulless minions of orthodoxy.

See, that's the problem. Vampires aren't the masters of necromantic magic. Necrarchs are certainly up there, but they aren't the undisputed kings.

According to the book The Red Duke, the vampires powers augment a necromancers but it takes a living being to masterfully manipulate necromantic magic.

Oorr GW simply wanted to have multiple "themes" accessible to the army, with appropriate support, based on who leads it while also allowing for a workable blend of the themes to exist. In the last book it was all on the vampires and necromancers were third string support or less, leaving loads of players wanting a 'proper' necromancer's army either as a supplement or as a permanent third undead book.
