Coolas that model in the previous post might look I think it would be more interesting (and more fitting with the background) to have it not based on a Land Raider (or any Imperial tank for that matter) but make it look like its fully build by Orks.

Orky pirate ships thats what you want :D

Don't base it off a land raider. Far too many people do this and it gets incredibly boring.

Instead I suggest you base it off a 1:35 tank like a Maus(kinda expensive, but probably less than a Landraider) or another tank.

But better than that you could scratch build it, take the tracks from a 1:35 kit and build the rest yourself from plasticard and foamcore.

Check out the Waaagh! Forum for inspirational orkyness.

If I had a 1.00 for every land raider based battlewagon I've seen...

Do you think this tank would be a good base ? to start off with its similar to the on forge world... :)

Green Grot

Yup, that would make a great base for it:)

Maybe put the Rokkitz/BSz/Scorchaz on the sponsons and the main weapon on a turret at the front.

That looks more like a battle fortress than a battle wagon - i.e. you're getting into superheavy tank territory with something that size!

Remember, a battlewagon only needs to be able to fit 20 orks on it - you might want to scale your ambitions back a bit. . .

Using a seige tower for the back bit doesn't seem like a bad idea to me... it looks like one... :)

i personally think that a siege esque tower would look good on a battlewagon, it would make it stand out, look more imposing than they usually are. After all bigger is better.
One point i will add is if you do decide to make that tower into a siege tower, you should put it up towards the front of the deck, otherwise u'd hav 2 go bakwards.

i can picture a battlewagon reversing into battle, the warboss sitting up on top sayin "bugger..."

No, thered be a guy backing along in front shouting directions:

"ok, bit mor, keep goin', bit furver," CRASH. "Ok, dat enuff."

its not a siege tower just a gun tower.... and its represents the weak back armour 10 and a bolter shot would probably blow that up... its the only vehicle in my army so if there were alot of vehicles than it would be over the top but becuase it on its own it should be ott

ive decided ill chop the tower a bit ive drawn what itll look lik in paint (very badly might i add :p)

I think it fits the description of a battlefortress a little better than a battlewagon. that thing is going to be HUGE!

chicodon
27-04-2006, 18:10
sizewise maybe but the spec id not say so...

No, but you could use the siege tower model for that bit... :)

maybe but i think itd be easier to build it from scratch be more sturdy and a part on the battle wagon...

That's a really great idea. The exhaust pipe of the building has HUGE potential for any medium to large Ork vehicle.

Now I'm even more excited about your project.

my friend built a tense battle waggon out of a rhino and the top and sides of a warhammer siege tower!!! though it may sound strange in my opinion it looks way better than the forge world one!!!!!

Wow, most n00bs get at least one "!" before the 1s, but you just went right on by!

Anyway, instead of a land raider use a russ or something.

I would suggest to keep the amount of Imperial tanks as low as possible, makes it look as if the Orks can actually build something themselves instead of having to loot Land Raiders in order to have Battlewagons

Go 'Uge or Go 'Ome as the orks would say. I love how kool that is looking just in the drawings. Forget what ever they say about size.

Cuz da Boyz need room to strech dere legs right????

The bigger it is, the more likely it's gonna get shot at. I hope that's part of your plan.

As for a base model... Bah... who needs a base model. Foamcore, cardboard, cardstock, styro, plasticard, and bitz for the win. Base model... ha!

By the way, a seige tower is cool. It's the long front end that will make this vehicle problematic for you. I would recommend chopping out everything in front of the LR/WW1 tank tracks in the back and just add a deff Rolla in front.
