"It does exactly what it says on the tin!"

Well, not quite.
I've always wanted an Admech force and it seems like the time now to begin.
I found out only recently of a small friendly 40k in 40mins tourney in my locality that will be on the 10th of May.
So I'm off to get started

For the glory of the Machine God!

So, what force are you using?

Guard with doctrines?

01-05-2006, 15:01
Yep, Guard with doctrines.
-Carapace Armour
and two more, which I'm not sure at the moment.

Heres a W.I.P. Lascannon Team; a servitor and a Rapieresque device.

I'd've thought "Bionics" (or whatever tye doctrine's called) was a no-brainer.

I know what you mean but I'm not a great fan of 6+ saves, invulnerable or not.

The skitarii will be Vostroyans with different head accessories.

You might consider having a look at my humble contribution to the ad mech (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12530) if you're using ogryns :D

Those are rather awesome, I have to say :D

I'd suggest speacial weapon squads, they get test weapons and I'd have to second the 6+ inv one (can't remember what it's called too).

Good luck

Everything is turning out very well, particularly the gammas and deltas (where are the alphas, or betas? :p), and great lascannon team.

Curse you. I've been trying to persuade myself into not buying Vostroyans to turn into skitari as changing the hats will be a lot of work. These hoods look good enough to start me thinking again. Nice work. Any close ups? How long did it take to remodel the heads?

06-05-2006, 20:45
Nice converion work on those Vostroyans! they're really nice minis, I got mine today :D and I'm still considering how I'm going to use them...

I'm looking forward to seeing how your army progresses, it's looking great so far!

Advice concerning the removal of vostroyan hats;
Make sure you don't have to do too much, It took me most of a day to do 20.

One thing with vostroyans that I didnt notice until I got them, they wear quite a lot of chainmail, not very techy and theres too much to try and cover it.

07-05-2006, 02:29
Thats bizzare that they have alot of chain mail. does anyone no why they are using chain mail or do you think the designers thought it may have been a good idea. Vostroya is by no mean a fuedal world, so the use of chain mail doesn't quite seem logical. The only idea i can think of is that they use the chain mail incase they are facing an army with lots of bayonets.

Oh sorry i forgot, nice models!
how did u remove the Vostroyan hat/pelt thingys?
Were the hats hard to remove?

07-05-2006, 15:38
looking good! I waqs going to use some vostroyans as my armoured fist squad skittarri (sp?) so is there any chance of a tutorial please?

07-05-2006, 16:37
I like the vostroyan conversions

07-05-2006, 16:53
The conversion is fairly simple,
1. Make a horizontal cut above the forehead to get rid of most of the hat and grind off the rest.
2. Get rid of as many V's as you can see.
3. Sculpt a hood.
4. Convert feathers into purity seals with a pit of GS.

Simple enough

- This is looking stellar and I love the Lascannon conversion! I'd steal it if I needed more Lascannons in my army, lol!

Welcome to the service of the Omnissiah!!

Good to see another go at AM forces. Keeps up the inspiration for the others.

Good looking fellas! I had the same idea but I don't quite like their weapons.
the faces are just perfect for AM. And I like the bionic arm on one of them.

Lovely! Keep us updated!!!
