If I cast cloying quagmire on a unit with no armour saves, what happens if they fail initiative, do they auto die (due to no armour, thus auto passing saves) or does it do nothing at all.
Stupid question I know, but needed to be asked.

Good question, seeing as they have no armour save to pass (and therefore become casulties) I would assume they automatically survive, logic dictates that the quagmire is only able to sink those heavy enough. Best thing to do is not cast it on them :)

It does absolutely nothing to them. They do not auto pass the save, they auto fail the save, and failing the save causes you to pass the save for the intents of that spell, so their inability to pass makes them unable to fail.

I think the intent of the spell is pretty clear. The more armor, the more likely to succumb. No armor: no effect.
