View Full Version : Conanabass's Cygnar Army

Hey all, I have had a bunch of Cygnar models accumulating since the game came out. I have played a few games and begun playing a bit more and I am hoping to find a new group of players when I move mid month. This has motivated me to paint my tremendous backlog of figures. To keep motivated I am only playing with miniatures I have painted and I am starting this plog. The first batch of guys up is two warcasters Commander Nemo and Siege with some Jacks. The paint scheme is pretty standard. The overall skill isn't great but I am trying to get to a pretty good game standard. Comments and criticism is welcome, but please leave me some confidence afterwards ;). Let me know what ya'll think.

First up Commander Nemo.
Now Siege from a couple of angles. (I think he may be a bit better than Nemo)
Thanks for the feedback.

Next up I have some warjacks. The pictures are a little blurry, I am not sure how to get the whole thing in focus.
First up a defender.
Next a centurion.
A group Photo.
Last photo is my favorite because it is from farther away ;).

Alright last post for the day. I have here my Journeyman Warcaster and some Light Warjacks to show. I cant do at freehand very well so I tried to sculpt his ranks onto each shoulder. I am pleased how it turned out.
C&C are welcome.

Looks cool. I like the centurion with the white bits, it ties it nicely to your characters.

@ Student: I appreciate it. I was trying to keep from having to paint hordes of blue and the faction books had some cool alternate paint schemes.

When I paint duplicates of a Jack it will have a different color scheme from the next. I think I have some good ideas for some future ones that should differentiate them besides just color schemes as well. Today I am posting my shots of my trenchers. I have 2x squads of six, a chain gun and CPT Finn. If I can get them done I will post my long gunner squad I am working on next week. After that I am moving to Clarksville, TN.
Finally everything that I have in the cabinet.
Don't mind the handsome fella in the mirror taking the photo. :D

Nice painting. I like how the gold turned out. I added you to the list of PP logs in the PP section of the forums.

Alright so here is my first squad of long gunners. I got these guys finished right before my move. I will take paints and some miniatures with me while I wait for our stuff to show up at the new house. Well enough of that here is the aforementioned long gunner squad.
I am going to paint eHailey next and then paint and arcane tempest gun mage squad a gun mage captain adept and pHailey. I am trying to get ready for the big July release and I definitely want to get some more games in. So far I have played a couple of small games and I am about 2 to 1 on win loss ratio and I hope to keep learning a lot more. As always please give me any comments and criticism you can think of and I will try to get something else posted in the next two to three weeks.

Ok so I am back after the move. I have been doing a little bit of painting but nothing ready to post. What I do I have is a photo of my latest purchase which is in preparation of Colossals! The purchase included The Stormwall, Stormstrider, a Hammersmith, a unit of rangers, both epic versions of Nemo, CPT Sloan, the Black 13th Gun Mages and a squire. I did not take a picture of the new book, but it is pretty cool so far.

I am currently painting a unit of ATGMs a gunmage CPT adept and eHailey. I am hoping to generate some C&C with some future posts. I may be trying a couple of new things out with the next three jacks I paint, pending feedback from the fine people of Warseer. The next three warjacks I paint are going to be another Lancer, a Sentinel and the Thunderhead. What I want to try new is first using some armor cast muzzle flashes and ejected shells. Second, I am thinking about trying some light weathering. I am usually like the nice clean look, and any weathering I do will not include a bunch of mud and rust. Third, I have also been thinking about adding flames in the eyes and behind the various grills on the jacks. Please all let me know what you think and I look forward to getting some more feedback.
