So my orc and goblin army has become a a chariot heavy gunline. The chariot total is 7 at 2000 points and 8 war machines. Is this a good start for this type of list? The core is blocks of goblin archers with fanatics to lay some more hurt on.

Anyone have any opinions? The chariot lay out is 3 wolf chariots,2 orc chariots, 2 pump wagons and I may do more. My war machines are 6 bolt throwers and 2 doom divers.

I like it :)

Is it intended to be an all goblin thing, or an orc&goblin thing?
It does seem heavily based around goblins barring the boar chariots.

Well the idea is just what I have to put together which in and of itself is very orc and goblin. The boars are there for size matters. Only when they die will anyone try ti run away. The chariot from left to right will be goblin orc wagon goblin wagon orc goblin. If a gobo chariot dies, no panic tests.

You aren't running the goblin chariots in units?
I'de personally make sure to run them in units of 3 simply as this makes them more useful.

Pump wagons still cause panic to nearby goblin units.
Only Orcs have the size matters rule.

I run them seperately because if one of them dies, I could see the whole unit panic. Also, if a chariot close dies, they can panic. The three sperate ones are harder to neutralize. The pump wagons can still panic them, so I will just have to be careful. It will be hard to keep 7 chariots going without the need for panic.

If you don't need to do bigger units because you need to to squeeze in the models, single chariots are much better IMO. They're so soft that they die quickly, so having them in a unit means that opponents don't waste overkill wounds on them.

So I am gonna bump the list to 2400 and grab a anorake spider with stone thrower. Massive creature and stone throwing goodness to add to the war machines

Beware of an enemy with some decent shooting (warmachines, especially cannons love chariots).

Last time I have tried some chariot spam with my Highelves just for fun (8 chariots) but it was a big faillure. Because they can not march they were easy pray for enemy cavalry (one was charged by a unit of inner circle knights who killed the chariot and overrun into a second one, one was charged by a steam tank, and even empire footmen get they charges with a good and lucky roll).

It can be fun, but it depends on a good tactic and good terrain because they have to get the charge because in a normal combat they have no staying power ...

Back in 6th I ran a Nomadic Badlands Waaagh! using only chariots, some pump wagons and one unit of boar boys.
I think I had around 20 chariots equally split amongst orc and goblin variants.

Thinking back I must say that this army was probably the most fun I have ever had with warhammer. I didn't win many games, but man was it fun to smash all these chariots into my enemy's regiments.

I would love to start a similar army using the Beastmen book as they are the only ones, along with Tomb Kings, that have chariots as core.
