I know it's been a while but I thought it might be interesting to ask how the site is for you guys.

Does everything work? Should we change anything?

Thanks,
Nick

All's well at this end, though the reply window tends to act buggy at times. Don't know if other people have the same problem.

The "quote" mechanic in mobile mode doesn't work.

Thanks guys. I'll see what we can do.

You should sell t-shirts and ltd ed models. Technically the site is working well for me on desktop and mobile devices both.

We looked into that when the site first opened but never really got anywhere, it's been 7 years and we still haven't done it. I'll have a think about it again.

Thanks,
Nick

This site has been the most reliable and constant thing in my life over the last few years. Ouch! Sorry Helga. I meant the 'second most' my dove.
It has been here through the good times and the bad and has remained the most wonderful escape from the real world.
Playing with the rumours has provided a great source of entertainmemt and the painting forums have quite simply changed my life by providing me with a the inspiration and motivation to get more stuff painted than I ever imagined possible. The trading forums have helped me aquire many of the minis I have been after and whatever my hobby related questions (from background to tactics to vintage minis) there are always a bunch of knowledgable guys falling over themselves to help out.

In short ... This site is the best place on the interwebz.

Thats how it is for me.

The mod team does a fantastic job at keeping Warseer's standards, as such it has become quite the envy of a lot of other GW'centric sites. It is and always has been the place to go to for rumors (Sorry BoLS, recycling Warseer info and home-spun nonsense isn't quite the same).

I have no problems and I agree the Mods and Admin are lovely :)

It'd be nice to have a board game section as well :)

Thank you for asking,

Shush

I have this problem too. About 1/20 of the time, I get a black box instead of the white reply field.

That said, I really like this site. It's easy to use, it's got pretty reasonable rules and mods, and a damn fine community. :D

What browser do you see that issue on?

Not had any real problems using the site at all, would like to see the return of certain themes though, in my case Black & Gold!

Thanks for all your hard work!

I remember (Gosh, I'm old). That's why I took the opportunity to remind you. ;-)

Seeing as how you have a good relationship with Felix of AoW (as Wintermute put it) maybe having AoW releasing a "Warseer"-cincept miniature could be the way to go?

I can see it being very popular; it could be a membership prerequisite? :p

I'm using Safari on my iPod Touch.

I think an AoW Warseer specific model would be sweet.

I think the site is fantastic. Only thought I have is maybe having an RPG discussion page and than an RPG page for people playing the game on the page.

I visit this site daily, and I have to say that all is well here.

I've had a few cases of pages taking a while/not loading when going onto the next page of a thread, but this is few & far between so not a major problem by a long shot. (using IE9 - yeah, I know :().

Merchandise and/or figures would be great - dice might be cool as well.

been using every day since i registered.

As other have said about the message window some time bug out with me.

and as said Merchandise and/or figures would help the site grown due to the funds it will bring.

How about some custom shoulderpads for use with generic toy soldiers?

I'd happily do the design for free.

3 minute sketch attached, based on the "warseers" icon, but I could do something more like the full warseer banner with a bit more effort and more time, if there was interest.

Other possibilities would be embossed Warseer banners for models to hold, custom helmets with the Warseer icon, etc.

I'd like to see the quote notification plug-in for vB implemented. :)

s'alright I guess :)

The fact it's on Tapatalk is the primary reason I visit every day. It's also the reason I bought Tapatalk!

Still miss the Portent/Orange theme, but ah well. Other than that everything seems relatively ok, anything else I tend to bring up in The Future of Warseer

The site is great. My main entry point is the User Control Panel which is a great page for my usage. It's now titled Settings, which I don't find descriptive enough for the page that gives access to all your subscriptions. Also the Settings link top right isn't quite as prominent as the old UserCP link was.
This is all minimal but I still feel that this part of the site could be given more weight.

Thanks for an amazing community!

Oh, hello Dr.Nick! Been running nicely for me, no problems what so ever. The only things I can think of would be:

.) Boardgames section please. :)
.) Portent theme please. :)

Other than that....I misplaced my Warseer shirt many years ago. :cries:

Custom Dice would be a good seller and easy to do.

On the whole I think WarSeer is doing great, I dont agree though, that you should add other themes (red and black, gold etc), stick to the same Blue and Black branding!

Oh, there is a weird little problem I'm having lately - Some pictures don't get displayed after reloading a page. I have no idea why that is. Sometimes a "Crtl-F5" helps but often they just vanish after a reload. Any idea what might cause that?

Warseer Dice, thread exalt, and more voluntary moderator roles (yes, I'm trying for a staff position, sue me :P).

Guild up and get yourself in The Wastes. Best way to get mods in your pocket.

Portent theme please. :)

There's a pretty good stop-gap solution (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?331056-Recreating-the-Portent-skin-%28stopgap-solution%29) :)

In terms of the technical side, everything works very well for me, so just keep up the good work on that front.

There are a couple of improvements which could be made to the way in which the forum is managed in my opinion, particularly in terms of the structure of the way in which tactics are discussed, and of toughening up the moderation, but these are documented elsewhere, so I see no need to repeat them here unless you wish me to.

The "quote" mechanic in mobile mode doesn't work.

I've found that if you select the quote button and open it in a new tab/window you can quote people just fine. Probably wouldn't help with multi quotes and its not a real solution, but its a nice stop gap.

Hope that helps :).

I've had an issue recently with the "Reply" window. Sometimes it doesn't actually let me type things in it. I'm not sure why. Closing the browser and re-opening it sometimes solves this.

Also, one of my threads got wasted recently with no explanation, and I'm honestly not sure what I did wrong. Whom should I contact about this if I want feedback?

Was that the poem one? You can always ask at the Warseer help desk for feedback: http://www.warseer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?35-The-WarSeer-Helpdesk.

Oh dear, nick posting on Warseer, trying to improve the site?
Guess we'll experience some downtime soon! :p

The front page suffers from a serious lack of content, but it's always been like that, I guess.
And it's not that easy to fix without something like a dedicated group of people collecting and submitting
news posts on a regular basis.

Does WarSeer even need a home/front page?

blackcherry
14-07-2012, 22:39
I suppose it does just to serve as an introductory page to people who may come across the site for the first time. The content is low on the first page, but I wasn't sure if there were plans to get articles up there or not.

The last thing I would want is for it to become some sort of mutant hybrid of forum/gallery/article/news page all jumbled up together like it is on the Librarium Online front page.

Would the Warseer team be interested in running events?

A tournament or something along those lines? It could be easy to organise and funds could go to the site (or gold plating certain MODs bathrooms) :shifty:

Alternatively there could be worldwide online campaigns... though those don't seem to be very popular from my experiences. Still might help the site to be even more widely known.
