hi i am starting a new empire army and need some help so could someone plz help me

I think you forgot a question, but I assume what you meant to say was "here's what I got already, what do you think I should change?". First of all, you're gonna have to tell us if the people you play are casual players with relaxed lists, or WAAC players with very tinkered lists. I can already tell you the "specialists" are going to tell you that the handgunners and the mortars are no good. Full command on all the handgunners is bad anyway. You may keep the banners if you play the scenarios (for blood and glory), but champs and musicians on them is a waste of points I think.

Drop the handgunners and the mortars, use some halbadiers (they are cheaper than free company get +1 str but 5 fewer attacks and at least get a 6+ armor save), increase the size of that great sword unit, add some knights of the inner circle and do try to take adavantage of the Hold the Line rule by adding a captain or two in there.

thx for the replies and yes that is the question i meant to ask and it will only be ca

casual players and i will be playing against vc a lot that why i picked the 2 mortars as he will have a lot of figs

why do i take no handguners

Because h.gunners costs hell of a lot for what they do (they shoot poorly and fight even worse. Actually, only thing they do good is dying). If U play with those models because they are the only ones You have You could do something like this:

As You said he has a lot of dead bodies, opponent of Yours. He will swarm You in 2-3 rounds and eat you as shots are very poor fighters. I can almost guarantee that what You kill with shooting he will be able to rebuild fast. Think about warrior priest for those swordsmen and upgrading Greatswords. One mortar can be changed with a hellblaster. Cavalry and magic weapons are invalueable against VC's as they have loads of cheap etheral Warmachine hunters/redirectors. Lore of light is good for You too :D
Alternatively Get an engineer and play him as a Castellan Falk from Tamurkhan book, put him in 20 men strong H.gunners/Ironsides unit with a hellblaster near him and upgrade all Your hangunners on the table with heavy armour (these are Tamurkhan rules, but maybe Your friends have those rules and allow it) :D At least they will be harder to kill.

The second list is better. I'd drop the stank and try and get more troops in, maybe a block of halberdiers or increase the swordsmen to
40 and whatever's left bulk up the greatswords. That's just me though.

This one is better. It would help a bit to know what is Your army's point limit and Your's model in possesion limit ;)

If You will be going with increasing body count a BSB tooled to fight and survive (normal troops, not VC heroes) in a cavalry unit perhaps, would be must be choice . Those fear tests can put You down.

I'd say just play a few games agains like minded friends before "dropping" the handgunners or worrying about changing anything. Get a feel for it yourself first.

More Greatswords and Halberdiers would help, Handgunners tend not to hit very well for me. In my experience you have to deploy them well otherwise you waste a turn trying to get a better shot

my friend just started empire about a month ago for the new book. He runs a pretty decent army so ill give you a sight into what he runs...

2 units of 35 halberds with full command and 2 detatchments of 5 bowman for each unit that he uses for re dericters.

a unit of 15 free company for bunker

a unit of 4 demigryphs

a steam tank

2 cannons

and 1 volley gun

For Characters he usually takes 3 priests (1 in each halberd unit and 1 with the gryphs), an engineer for the volley gun, a BSB and a lvl 4 wizard.



Its a very nice set up and he does fairly well. Its a 2200 point list btw
