Hello Eveyone,

I have recently started a Flesh Tearers army and I wanted to share my progress on warseer! So far I have a 8 man tactical squad, a 6 man tacticle squad with a rhino (eventually Chapter Master Seth will join them).

The other stuff that I have, but still in the process of building is; 10 shooty terminator squad, custom built Death Company Chaplin (with Death Company), bike squadron, devestator squad, and then another 8-10 man tact squad. My tactical squad man counts are all over the place to help visualize the squads getting wittled down as the black rage consumes them. That being said I will be playing this army right from Codex: Blood Angels. THe reason for this decision is suprisingly very few people I know own Index Astartes 1, and I am not sure if that list is leagle anymore.... So BA codex it is. My next post will have some pics and I thank you for all comments and moral support in my quest to hit a 2k list!

Ok, so I finished building my custom built Death Company Chaplin plus 9 addition Death Company marines. I have 1 DC with a power fist and another with a power weapon for any vet. sgt. that are too compeled and over come with sadness and such! Thoughts and comments are always welcome:cool:

I'd cut 1.5 cm off the bottom and add a chainsword blade to make it into a double-headed glaive - it'd really exemplify the chapter's nature as close-combat specialists. Otherwise, the rhino is excellent, the dozer blade really makes the transport look aggressive. Top work, mate! :)

Hello Friends,

Sorry about getting back to your comments so late. Starting last night and into today life has become hectic. I feel bad because I started on the painting of the chaplin after the comments of shortening his crozus had been made. So the bad news is that I have started painting him but after reading your comments I see your points and it makes sense to me, however he is not close to done so I may be able to doctor him up. I will post pictures tomorrow as I just need to unwind this evening. Thank you to all who have offered their honest opinions as well as positive comments. Please be patient an we should see something cool tomorrow!

nice painting style - dark look, crisp finish and a chapter that aren't all that common. Would like to see some pics of the whole squad if poss.

Guess i would expect to see more assault marines, even on foot rather than devastators in a flesh tearers list but as i haven't got either of the lists you mentioned might not be best placed to comment. Looking forward to the rest.

Well, I relized that I had done more (painting wise) to the crozus and I became worried that if I trimmed the staff that I would end up ruining it.... However I like the suggestion of a shorter 2x ended glaive thing and I think once I get a playable force on the table I will go back and make a new chappy based on the fine input. So here is the DC Chaplin as well as some almost completed DC Marines. On the marines I still need to shade then highlight the weapons before they are "done". Also I will begin to do the bases once all the members have been completed:cool: .

The fingers on the chap look too grey, as does the cuff of this hand. A nice TT standard army though, but perhaps you could deepen the colour and depth of the red with some inks before varnishing, as I think that would make the models "pop".

Thanks for the honest CC friend! I think my camera is a bit off as there is more "deepness to my already dark red. I will see what I can do with lighting and such. As far as the black armour on the chappy goes I must admit that I tried to simplify the black armour by only adding extreme highlights to some of the edges and higher areas.

The figures look good, nice finish to them and a good overall theme. The staff for the chaplain does look a little long, but thats your call so hey. If you are doing death company without helmets, then you may try putting a very thin red wash over the eyes, I have seen that look pretty nice before to add to the 'maddend' look. Also, the blood drop on the chest of the chaplain looks a little 'weird'- cant put my finger on anything particular, but it doesnt seem to blend in with the rest. But overall, big thumbs up and keep up with the updates

The idea of the red over the eyes sounds really cool! As I get to completion on the DC I will add that suggestion:) ! Although I am happy with the way the blood tear came out on the chaplin I agree that it seems out of place also! So between his BIG crozus and some other oddites I thing after the main force is done I will go back and make a new DC chappy.

Well now that I have the bare headed fellows out of the way I have gone to the "assembly line" to finish the other members. I should be able to post some pics tomorrow.

Hello Everyone,

Here are my photos from my 6 man Terminator Squad. I know the banner is BIG but I swear it only looked big after I primed it. Well at least he will match the chaplin!

good indeed, I like what you're doing here... dark and brooding marines (though I never thought I'd see a FT Dev Squad).. Inspiration taken (for later work ;) )

Once again thanks for all of the kind words! I know I stated that I would do my bikes next but my friend gave me a dreadnought with a very wicked looking close combat arm. So I threw him into my rotation and here he is. On a side note I must write that the depth of the red is more as I think my light is washing out some details.... I plan on getting one of those studio-in-a-box things in the near future. All thoughts and comments are welcome:cool: .

Hmmm, lots of empty space on the front of the dread, looks like it needs something.

Zactar
31-05-2006, 10:45
It needs some work on the front, like chapter badge, name, merits (as all dreads are old heroes), purity seals, scripture and so forth. Otherwise that huge wrecking ball looks quite scary.

As I look at the Dread I too think it needs something.... When I got the model from my friend he had already primed it and I suppose I just went to pianting without noticing he needed more "stuff" until I was done. Well when I get home from work today I shall raid the bitz box and see what I can come up with:) .
