Hi Everyone.

I've been a long time viewer first time poster. My brother and me are working on a Carnifex Diarama. The idea is to have about 3 to 4 space marines shooting at 5 to 6 hormaguants and a carnifex.

Here are some pictures:

This is all the parts to the carnifex I will be using. I haven't decided on which head I want.

This is what the first crushing claw looks like. I am painting all the parts seperatly and then putting them together at the end.

I will try to post a new picture every few days (with school still going on it's hard to find time to paint.)

Enjoy and all comments and criticisms are appreciated!

If this is just for the diorama, I would suggest the spore cyst or spine banks. The regular plate is just too boring. Also give him lots of pointless cool-looking bio-morphs. I love the looks of most of them, but their effectiveness- not so much. Good paint job BTW.

Well the claw looks very well painted. You've set the standard, so we'll be waiting for more.

Thanks for the comments. I agree with you bluebugs on changing the plate. I think i will go with the spore cyst plate. And I also plan to add lots of little biomorphs.

Here is a picture of one of the scything talons I did today.

I've been doing pretty good progress, and I hope to keep the pace up. Over the next few days I am going to finish the other crushing claw and scything talon, so I doubt I'll have new pictures for awhile. I will continue to keep you guys updated.

That's all of the parts painted.

Hope you all enjoy! I will get more pictures once he is all put together. I will still be adding more little detail parts. Please let me know what you all think.

I love the mottled effect - especially on the carapace. Very impressionist!

Looks good, nice scheme as well. What did you say was going on the diorama? A few gaunts and a few marines as well? You got any ideas as to how you will place the marines? May I suggest them in a slit trench and the gaunts runshing them and the 'Fex rumbling along behind them? That would look cool.
Good painting on the 'Fex though!

Thats an awesome painting style! As for the marines, maybe they (or just one of them) are only just noticing the 'fex. He's hard to miss yeah but the hordes of gaunts are a little distracting. So 3 of the marines are shooting the guants while the Sargeant is looking at the 'fex, weapon lowered sligtly from shock and because of his pause a gaunt has got closer and is about to deliver the killing blow. Thats how i'd probably do it.
