Hi. I was thinking: getting infantry in to a tray like the this one: http://us.battlefoam.com/products/%28IG%29-72-Troop-Foam-Tray-%28BF%29.html takes a whole lot of time and effort. anyone tried before fust plucking all the foam out and just lay the models as is?

If you use acoustic foam, you can just lay them down in the recesses. It's usually cheaper too. Cut to fit whatever carrying case you want.

true man, but i got the bfoam pack432 with 1",2" & 3" plucks and the flexibility for oddities and special characters is a big win imo. oh and it really doesn't take long to pluck out bits either....with the added bonus of getting foam bricks for boxing really awkward models (superheavies/flyers etc) in battleforce boxes safely too. oh and they re-glue in place easily if you need to re-design any of the slots too. another one to look at would be KR multicase,, better stuff but more money too, worth it if you can afford to splash out as they do custom trays. hope that helps.

I go with the custom foam from Kaiser Rushforth

Superb quality and so easy to use.

If you're just going to throw the foam out anyway, why don't you just use a shoebox?
