Sorry if this has been asked countless times before, but i am looking for an army list creator, ive been using

http://armycreator.com/armies/editor.php?id=2672 because its free and id rather not spend $ for something so simple to make(not the site the lists of course).

this site is good but i get the feeling the maker of it quit or updates slowly and ive notice mistakes or minor annoyannces, and there are no dwarfs as well nor can i seem to post. i mainly want an army list to help me plan out future purchases, such as the 1500 lizardmen army i intend to buy for a friend(hes painting it though).

Do you really need one?

I just use excel where I name the unit in one column and have the points added up in the following column. Easy, free, works.

If you're REALLY cheap, like me, and don't want to buy office, just use NotePad.

Or download open-office for free.

Or you can use google docs, its free too :-)

Other than that there realy aren't that many "free" army builders out there, you'll have to dig around pretty deep.

I use this in combination with the free version of Army Builder. You can only create 3 units at a time, but that's all I need to transfer to information into excel.

Army Builder is not free, but is absolutely worthwhile. Same with the Quartermaster iPhone app

Battlescribe has some minor issues and missing lists to be aware of, such as the Enchanted shield costing 5 point even for armies in which it should be more, and it doesn't have a file for the TK army the last I saw.

Army Builder isn't free, but it certainly isn't expensive either. Around $12 per year. Frequent updates, a large variety of game systems. That isn't even the cost of a single model. Only need Internet access to get updates. Well worth it to me.

Usually, I use a pen and a piece of paper, it works quite well too.

Why

I second Urgats technique.

Follow the easy steps:
Find lined paper and writting tool, (your own blood can be used)
Write list and add up the sum of the army on the other side of the page
Bring to game

All this adds up to a easy and effective army creating machine:D

I still have my old copy of Army Builder 2.2c bought years and years ago, it's still supported by a yahoo group of dedicated fans (Arromanche), and I find it better suited to my needs than the 3.x version ...

Or else, pen and paper works fine, and is the cheapest option :p

With a bit of search-fu, you could even find Army Builder 2.2c for free, with a crack that allows you to go past the restrictions of the demo version ...

Try YALB (Yet Another List Builder). It's free, easy to use, I like it very much.
