Yup the gold is looking suitably epic.

Excellent progression and I cannot wait to see a final product.

Awesome, looking good.

Noticed the price tag on that model, 50 right? Any buyers remorse?

The gold looks beautiful! How do you do it?

lfarnin21
24-09-2012, 22:14
hey...its vallejo brass mixed with vallejo chocolate brown and airbrushed on....followed by a mix of gw agrax earthshade, nuln oil and the old flesh wash airbrushed over. then i drybrushed the raised visible areas with vallejo brass again.... and then drybrushed with gw chainmail..... then used various washes and inks around rivets and in cracks etc to give it a more worn and beaten look :)

This is fantastic man! At the speed at which you are progressing, the quality of your paint job becomes all the more impressive. Thinking about getting an airbrush to paint faster without compromising quality, I think your angron just convinced me!

Amazing work and thanks for the tip with the gold. I will give it a try next time I get to my High Elves, and when I get myself an Angron.

awesome. i find the armour a little monotone, with only the gold colour, and the tubes coming out of his head would profit from being differentiated. But otherwise, a deadly paint job.

Hi, i know what you mean, but there isnt much to him, the hair pieces are in fact gold,..... i did look at doing them black but it looked silly..... thanks everyone for the comments and criticisms.... i finished him in 11 hours.... this is the finished product.. he is on ebay now if anyone is interested

Looks great, would you mind telling us how you did the white on the Death Guard. Getting that gritty white with brown/earthy undertones?

The Death Guard and World Eater marines are fantastically painted as well as the outstanding Angron.

Would you mind telling us how you managed to get the green hints into the DG armour?

the deathguard models wre painted bone colours and washed with agrax, and while the agrax was wet, i blendid in white. once this was dry, i used flesh wash to pick out the details :)
