View Full Version : The biggest model in 40k?

Which one do you suggest? I know you can measure this in numerous ways. Myself, I was almost shocked when I saw how big the valkyrie/vendetta is from above compared to vehicles on the ground. But of course that impression has to do with the flat appearance of the model, other models may beat it if you look to volume or height.

But from top-down perspective, how big are the other flyers compared to the valkyrie for example? The dakka jet seems much smaller to me. What about the new ones? Dragons and such?

Which model is tallest/highest? The monolith? And so on. :)

Edit: Forgot to point out that I don't take forgeworld and other models into account. :)

The Phantom titan is probably the tallest, and the largest is probably either the Reaver titan or Tau Manta.

Does Forgeworld stuff count :D ? Because I've only seen a manta on pictures, but that thing is huge (http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/4/20/28528_md-Adepticon%202009,%20Manta,%20Tau,%20Team%20Tournam ent.jpg)

Otherwise I think the Land Raider is probably the bulkiest, but I imagine fliers such as the valkyrie may be bigger end to end. Wasn't the Stormraven bigger, though?

Barring Apocalypse/Forgeworld and Fortifications I'm going to say either the storm raven or valkyrie is the the longest/widest and largest in total dimensions. As for volume i'd say the land raider or monolith. With monolith being my bet for tallest.

Manta is the largest by far. Having seen one in person, it's best size comparison is to the Realm of Battle Board.
Titans are pretty big, but surprisingly not crazily so. The Warhound is volume wise about equal to a pair of Baneblades.
Plastic kit, Stompa wins on volume and height, I think the Valkyrie on Width, and Baneblade narrowly on length. Actually, I think the Fortress of Redemption wins on height and width, and probably volume as well.
Non Apoc plastics you have the Monolith for height and maybe volume, Valkyrie for length and width.

It's gotta be either one of the fortresses, FOR for GW proper, and the FW fortress for others

The Manta is rather larger than the FW fortress except in height. It is less detailed overall though.

That is a scratchbuild though, not the FW kit.

You might want to check out www.ForgeWorld.co.uk then. Check the titans section. The foot of my Phantom Titan is as about large as a Vyper Jetbike.

The manta is the clear winner here, Coming in at 3 ft by 2 ft, it's the largest model out there.

Tallest would be the Phantom titan (at least until the Warlord is released by FW.)

Hey, I said no forgeworld! ;) Might as well make that no apocalypse. Who's the winner now? :-)

:p Pthbbbt. You only said that after we posted. Too late to add arbitrary conditions now. :)

The Realm of Battle? It's going to be hard to make a model bigger than the actual board...

Soulgrinder inhabits a pretty big portion of battlefield, as does the Defiler, they would be contenders in mainstream 40K. Depending on how you manage with the legs of these two, you might have trouble getting them to sit comfortably on a flyer base, so whilst not necessarily the most massive model in the game they certainly take up a lot of room

Otherwise I doubt the flying brick that is the Monolith can be beaten.

Haha! Behave or I'll close this thread. ;) But I still wanna know! What's the biggest non-Forgeworld, non-apocalypse 40k model? :)
