Has anybody got any good and easy alternatives for autocannons for csm havocs?

I'm planning to use the ones from the IG heavy weapons team.

The heavy bolter from the CSM squad box, trimmed down and with a plastic tube stuck on the end instead of the distinctive bolter muzzle. Converting difficulty: 0/10.

I used the heavy bolter trimmed down but instead of a plastic tube I used a couple of reaper autocannon's from a Defiler as the barrel. Looks quite good.

How about....Power Armour GK Psycannons with the end trimmed and any autocannon barrel added.

Have you got any pics. I was thinking a HB and using IG autocannon muzzles but was curious to see how they'd look.

I did similar myself. I used about 1cm of toothpick inserted into the muzzle of the H.Bolter and a spare open mouthed skull from a warhammer skeleton sprue. I'm a very novice converter and it looks good if I do say so myself.

I did one with a heavy bolter, chopped the muzzle off and replaced it with a tube. The trick is then to get a slightly bigger tube that just fits over the first one and put a short section near the body of the gun and another short section with a large hole drilled laterally across it near the end of the barrel.

Looks great and have had several people ask where I found that autocannon?

I'm taking the easy way out. I have four blastmasters that I used as havoks in my 3.5 EC army. I currently have no blastmasters at all in the 6th ed. EC army. Now I have 4 "sonic" autocannons. Helps keep the look of the army intact.

Iíve been using heavy stubber barrels on my heavy bolters.

The pics aren't that great, but they give you an idea of what I knocked out last night in 45 minutes total, kit bashing parts for 2 of them as a goof.

I don't to hand, but AlphariusOmegon20's pics should give you an idea of what I was talking about. I used a much simpler plastic tube rather than a part from another model, and I was planning on putting some holes in the sides but I'm not sure I even need to to that.

I have seen some awesome conversions using the hand and the gun from the chaos terminator reaper autocannon, should be fairly simple to marry it to a power armour upper arm

Thanks guys for all your advice I'll just weigh up whether I want to use tubes or the muzzle of imperial guard autocannon/heavy stubber. If I did use a tube would it be hard to make the vertical vent holes like on the actual model with a dremel?

Well since i magnetized all my terminators, and they nerfed how many reapers you can field in them, I have a lot of reaper arms pre magnetized. Granted regular autocannons aren't twin linked like reapers, but its close enough.

For a barrel and muzzle neak a peek at the hades autocannon from the heldrake kit, it's a keeper! :D

Feel free, Sprug! You'll need a Chaos HB, A Reaper Autocannon, a Termie power Axe with the straight rear spike (there's also one with a curved spike), and a feed box from the ravenwing landspeeder.

The termie axe head you can see but the spike on the gun's receiver is the back spike from the axe also.

Another idea I came up with but decided not to go with, was a similar design, but to use the barrel and recoil dampener from an IG one, and flip it to where the dampener was on top of the barrel. In the end, I decided to save that idea for an SM conversion, as it has cleaner lines.

I have been wondering for a long time now where you get that ammo feed from? I take it it's a HB somewhere, but I can't find the model on GWs homepage and I don't play loyalists so I'm not too familiar with their kits...

@Excessus,

The ammo back-packs are from the SM devastator squads http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440273a&prodId=prod1140183 I just buyed the bakc-packs at a bit store.

Hmm...must have missed that picture somehow...strange...

Thank you Aiwass! Now I have to see if I can get a hold of some of those HBs and make my havocs! :)
