View Full Version : Into the Halls of Madness: The Rebirth

I'm restarting this RPG from scratch with a few changes.

I like the idea too much to let it die. Here is the original recruitment post, for posterity.

Welcome, Soldiers, to certain death.

Antion Quintus is a planet in a small system on the edge of the Maelstrom, a whirling warp storm only rivalled in size by the Ocularis Terribilis itself, the Eye of Terror.

Rumors of an STC of unimaginable value have surfaced upon this planet, and it's up to the Guard to take it! However, not all is as it seems....

As planets polluted by the Warp happen to be, Antion Quintus is...well....odd. Things don't add up. Adeptus Mechanicus, Guard, and yes even more shadowy members of the Imperial Machine make their appearance here, competing in a war of attrition for the possibility of the biggest rediscovery in the history of Man!

Here's the deal. I need Guard. Specialists. You can pick your regiment, custom or official. I will also accept on a limited basis members of the Cult Mechanicus (one) as well as Inquisitorial Henchmen. Radical Hereticus and Malleus styled. I will control the eventual Inquisitorial representative.

Will you survive to find the prize? Will Antion Quintus claim yet more lives, lost to the grinding of buerocratic cogs? Will Chaos reach it first? Join this RPG and find out!

Here are the changes. I shall be controlling the Inquisitor. I chose not to last time, to try to allow an oooold character I rather enjoyed to be RPed by another person, and the thread died. You will be able to be Inquisitorial Henchmen, selectable from any branch of the Imperium, with the following exceptions.

Nobody 'faction aligned,' IE: Adeptus Astaertes, Adeptus Sororiatus, no Assassins of any kind, death cult or otherwise. Guard, Mechanicus, lowlifes, mutants, psykers, anything else goes. All characters are subject to review by me.

I don't have a complete write up on the Inquisitor yet, but here's his characteristics:

He is greedy, impulsive, brash, he is of the sort to gladly stab his gradmother in the back if it gets his goals achieved. He is ruthless. He is very much a Radical Ordo Hereticus.

Other rules: If any 'regular' RPGer wishes to reuse a previous character, EVERYTHING starts from scratch. I want no grudges seemingly omnipotently applied. Character action is paramount, I don't care if you hate another roleplayer. If the character has no way of knowing, you can't make them know. If you wish to be aligned with another previously used character from another RPG, please let me know in advance.

Hey Nid's back with more halls of madness. Woohoo wave flags and party!

Hmmm......Make a sanctioned psyker or bring back my old character... I'll have to think this one through a bit more. Though the psyker idea I've got bouncing around is more likely at the moment. Bit busy with uni work atm. Will slip a character in within the next few days though :D

Can I sign up using this (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=438964#post438964) character? Hied to the Inquisitor for some reason or other, I'll think of something.

Would you be against Freya appearing in this?

Not so much utterly from stretch, but I'd like to keep her personality but change her Ordo to Malleus rather than Hereticus acolyte?

23-05-2006, 03:04
I will join if the C I posted before gets the ok as I had not been given one last time.

23-05-2006, 03:35
All previous characters are oked. Freya is fine.

Ill be back for this, gimme a few to come up with a character.

Nid if you want someone to play as the Inquisitor who will actually be active ill do it for you.

Can I bring back Cyphe.. I mean.. Koreas ;)

I'll write up a much more recent, daemon-hunting background. But it'll be interesting to see how she fairs against your Inquisitor, Nid. So she'll be as bad temptered as ever.

Another quock question.....do you mind what rank she is? Coz I don't mind keeping her as an Interrogator (a senior one at that who can go off and investigate on her own but has to report back), after all she is still quite young, but if you want her bumped up to Inquisitor (all be it a juniour Inquisitor) that's fine too.

If she says as an Interrogator....would it be ok for her to be followed around by a servo skull that's keeping a close eye on her for her new master?

Haha, why is it every Girl RPed in an Inquisition RP is a mega cranky bitch? I think I'm going to tweak Tabitha's background so we can have one fairly good natured female in this thread! (But with an edge anyone who read the orginial background will remember!)

24-05-2006, 20:35
Is there any particular reason to start from scratch, rather than just re-igniting the previous thread? The only reason it stalled was our no-show Inquisitor, IIRC, and I'm sure you can think of some excuse for him cowering like a baby in the back of the shuttle while we were doing all the hard work!

As the two groups had only just merged into one, anyone new who wants to join can be fairly easily shoe-horned in at this point as well, I think.

24-05-2006, 20:38
There is that idea.

24-05-2006, 20:58
Yeah, we could always try that! How many others from the original thread are willing to join back in? I'm up for continuing Tabitha. After all, things were just getting interesting :D

24-05-2006, 22:28
The reason Freya is bad tempered is because I'm bad tempered.

25-05-2006, 12:02
your not that bad tempered.. well not to me.. anyway my earlier question still stands? if not im sure i can dredge some creation from the depths of my imagination

25-05-2006, 16:13
*waits for repsonse*

*prods nikki in the ribs and runs*

26-05-2006, 23:34
However you guys want to start this up is cool with me.

30-05-2006, 18:51
Don't mean to rush you, Mr N, but is this getting off the ground any time soon?

12-06-2006, 05:41
Ya know, now I'm settled into my new place, I should be able to get into a RPG again... This one's been brewing for quite some time...

Name: Askandria Magnum.
Age: 19 Years, Imperial Sidereal Calander.

Background: Born 19 years ago on the Altaioc Craftworld, Askandria now walks the path of the Outcast. The Daughter of the Human/Nissicar cross Salrian Magnum, and the Eldar Bonesinger Adept Kerin Boneweld, she combines the traits of all three species into a package completely unique in the galaxy. From her father, she inherited physical strength and endurance. From her mother, the Eldar's psychic gifts, making her a nascient telepath and telekine. From her unknown Nissican Grandfather, the jet black eyes that set Salrian apart from mankind, and a rapid metabolism that makes her difficult to poison. This is her first foray into the Imperium of Man, and she still remember the advice Salrian gave her.
"Keep your friends close, and the Inquisitor at arms length. The Puritains are gonna hate you..."

Gear: Askandria carries Negociator, a master crafted force sword, given to her by her mother. The weapon allows her to focus her psychic abilities through the blade into a deadly jolt of energy. She also carries Revenge, a Bolt Pistol that her father once carried in battle. In addition to the normal ammo, she also carries two clips of specially crafted Wraithbone impregnated bolts, a fusion of Eldar and Human technology specially crafted to destroy daemons. She wears an armored storm coat with wraithbone panels woven into it to block unfriendly or inquisitive psykers.

Appearance: Askandria is taller than a normal human, with long golden hair and statuesque features. Humans and Eldar find her beautiful, but most are unnerved by her black Nissican eyes, and cannot meet her gaze for long.

Previous Affiliations: None. Eldar from Altaioc may know her, or of her, and if Radis Fireborn comes into the picture, they will know of each other, but they have never met. Other than that, we are starting from scratch here...
