Hey guys,
im new to fantasy and looking for an army to start with. I originally started with 8th edition empire but found myself getting slaughtered more than I would want to, there's also a fair amount of repetitive painting involved with them. I'm looking for something a bit more straight forward and forgiving. I'm not a huge fan of WoC models or lizardmen and most people reccomend those armies to me for their power and ease of play. Any advice?

Well, normally I would say go with what you like the look of, I would give it a few more games with your empire before jumping ship, once you start to get the hang of them your wins will be far more satisfying.

Otherwise, if you're looking purely for power and ease of play, ogres and daemons are both strong books atm.

To beat ogres go more shooty - a volley gun should do the trick I got smashed by a shooty empire Army. The more shooting you have the more problematic you are for the ogre player. if he has sabertusk try to shoot them first turn and then target the IG or Ogre units.

The game is sort of designed around 2000-3000 and when you go as low as 1000 it can be quite a different game. I would suggest playing some games at 1500 which i think is a better experiance and won't require THAT many more models.

i would drop the pistoliers and upgrade the lvl 2 to a lvl 4, get a BSB and a steam tank
