Today I learned that Steve Jackson is two people, both game designers, both involved with the fighting fantasy books and both wargame creators.

one in the states http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jackson_(US_game_designer)
one in the uk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jackson_(UK_game_designer)

Mind blown.

Maybe more of a "GW General"-topic, but I agree, it's always been rather confusing!

"Evil Steve" Jackson is the fellow from Texas who gave us GURPS, Ogre, and Car Wars

"English Steve" Jackson gave us GW and FIST

Scorpion Swamp, the first Fighting Fantasy book not written by Steve Jackson or Ian Livingstone, was written by... Steve Jackson.

All the time I spent reading Fighting Fantasy books and I never knew there were two Steve Jacksons. I have to confess to being a bigger fan of the Lone Wolf books though.

Yes, I alwasy thought it was confusing and figured that there must be two. However, I never looked into it.

Thanks for confirming my lazy supposition.

I googled this one a few years back when I saw some of American Steves work. I knew the British one from a childhood with FF books, and presumed that there werent enough hours in a day for one bloke to be cracking it all.

Unless he took plenty of pro-plus and had bags under his eyes like Gandalf the Grey. :D
