Did Specialist games ever make models for torpedoes ? There aren't any on the online store now.... but I feel like I remember seeing those models somewhere.

You can use almost anything as a torpedo... (well... not quite) Space marine rockets.. if you know a few people with marine armys.. you can probobly get together about 20+ of these...

Or... I think somewhere you can get an air fix kit for 1/72 or 1/100 missiles and it will allow you tyo make lots of bases of each kind!

They would be way too big.

The size of a grain of rice is about right.

No sereously there are racks of really good ones that go on the sides of helocopters that are only a few mm long... I have the box.... and sereously they would work!

The torpeodes GW put out are 7 mm long and 1 mm in diameter (2 mm at the fins). Just measured the ones I have.

Space marine rockets..

Those are quite a bit larger than the torpedoes (10 mm long 2.5 mm diameter), but if you don't have any of the originals to compare them to they work fine.

Besides, weren't the models only supposed to represent the ships and that to scale even the Grand Cruisers would be about the size of the tip of the flying stand? So the items you use to represent the torpedoes don't have to be to the exact scale.

Why'd they put them out of production, anyway? Were they supplanted by the cardboard counters that come in the box-set?

Not complaining, by the way. I'd much rather use cardboard punch outs than buy and paint 60 torpedo "models," but I am curious.

No-one bought them. Simple as that really.
