View Full Version : Empire Model Question: Crafting Tercio's!

I am considering building an Empire army with a Spaniard theme, with my infantry blocks dressed and looking like Tercio's! I have figured out the baasinet helms, and most of the halberd models have all the detail work, what I need though is round shields. Are there any sources of scaled right, good looking round shields anywhere?

There's these: http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=1175&cat=82&page=7

Lots of useful bits here: http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=82

Finally, if using non-GW figures is not an issue, an entire range of Renaissance Spanish here: http://www.theassaultgroup.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=120

For halberdiers and pikemen i recommend you http://www.gamezoneminiatures.com/tienda/en/45-empire

They will be releasing them in plastic resin soon. And if the dark elves prices are anything to go by they will be 25€ for 30 models with full command!

If you want round shields, you can get some from http://hoardobits.com/.

Select Wargames Factory > Skeletons, you'll see the big round shields there (also available with the Greek Hoplites and Amazons kit, a bit cheaper too, but currently out of stock). The Saxons and Vikings kits also have round shields of different design, so you an look at those too :)

Have you looked at Tercio Creativo? http://www.terciocreativo.com/

They do 17th century Spanish, I only have one of their models but I am happy with it. So far it only has a base and undercoat, but one day...
