Fliers definitely seem to be ruling the battlefield these days, and judging by what I've been reading dealing with them has become a major aspect of the game these days. But how much anti-air us too much?

I'm working on a 2000 pt IG force that includes an ADL with quad gun, a Vendetta and a Hydra. Is that too much, too little or just right?

Not sure how much is too much. But one thing is for certain, at the very least you need some anti-air.

I would say that sounds pretty reasonable. Myself, I'd go for a Hydra Squadron to be sure of putting down whatever flyers rock up!

That said, in my local meta-game, there aren't that many flyers. But anything with autocannons, and lots of them, is a fairly safe bet. Aegis Defence Lines are spankin'.

I finished 2nd in a 2500 point tournament a month or so ago with 2x hydras, a soulgrinder and a bloodthirster as anti air options (listed in order of AA usefulness). Also, there was a lucky melta shot too.

I think most people go with two aircraft as anti-air. Typically Vendettas because Guard can Ally with anyone.

Except Tyranids of course.

The Vendetta is the most broke ass thing in the game in 5th and got a lovely boost in 6th. Take a few of those and you will have nothing to fear.
