This new model idea is not official. If you wish to use a dead thing in your force, use and spirit model e.g spectre, barrow-wights or twilight ringwraiths.

The Dead things of the Dead Marshes are long lost soldiers of the war of the last alliance. Instead of swords and shields they use candles to lure the prey and turn their enemies into a dead thing.

F S D A W C
Dead Thing -/- - 10 - 10 8 Points cost: 150pts each

Wargear: Candle of Trickery

Special Rules:

Terror: See main rules manual, except you need 14 to pass courage test.

Candle of Trickery: When an enemy model is within 10in of a Dead thing, the Dead thing must roll a di and must get a certain no. to achieve the changing of sides:

Man:4+
Elf:5+
Dwarves:5+
Wizard:5+
Ent:5+
Eagle:5+
Giant Spider:4+
Goblin/Orc/Uruk-hai/Troll:3+
Watcher in the Water:6+
Great Beast:3+
Spirit:N/A
Dragon/Cave Drake/Fell Beast/Giant Bats:6+
Mumak:3+
Horse/Warg/Camel:2+

If the number above is rolled then that model changes alliegance. Heroes can use might to lower these results.

Fight for whoever it wants: Having being killed thousands of years ago, they pick no real side. Good and Bad can field Dead things

The Dead Marshes: Dead things can't be fielded anywhere but the Dead Marshes

A Spirit Left: A Dead thing can move through any obstacle and can move 24cm.

Can I have your opinions?

Gollum can't be corrupted.

I'm at work and so going from memory. These rules remind me of the rules for the Dead Marsh Specters. Just instead of changing sides, their special rule allows you to move a model up to a full move, even if it moved.
