Hey all,

It appears 2013 is the year of the Eldar! With the release if the 6th edition eldar codex it's time to revisit my old tournament army (see Yuriel's Ghost in signature) I've been rather fortunate my old list is almost 80% unchanged between editions with only the inclusion of a few new goodies. I love my army but I really need a change from the grey, it was originally built around the cities of death (hence the colour scheme). Secondly to help with this arduous task of I've made the brave step towards purchasing an airbrush and have foolishly begun to look at oil washes. So 2013, new look army, lots of new painting techniques and hopefully some enjoyable moments ahead.

I am completely new to airbrushing and I really have no idea about 'correct' techniques so hopefully some of you can provide some useful tips as I bungle my way through.

The below pic will be continually updated with the latest edition to the new paint scheme: This week Farseer!

Complete list to be painted:
Farseer
Autarch

Scorpions x 8
Howling Banshees x 8
Fire Dragons x 8

Dire Avengers x 20
Jetbikes x 10

Warpspiders x 20
Shining Spears x 4

Wraithknight x 1
Wraithlord x 1
War Walkers x 4

Waveserpents x 4

I'll be starting with the bigger models first to get used to the airbrush and work my way done :D

I like the blue that you've used, although the white stripes have me stumped at the moment. I think they're a tad to thin for such a large surface, then again they might fit in better with more details done to the tank. Good job rescuing the falcon!

Thanks, totally agree with the white stripes - I'm just in the process of painting up a waveserpent from my army list and like you suggested I've thickened them up to 6mm. I really was just testing the 'how am I going to make this work' with the Falcon I won't use in my tournie army.

Thanks SBjuth.

So this week has been all about updating my old waveserpents, there is still a bit of finishing required ie: gems, weapons etc but the chasis is coming along. At this stage I need to think about what the gems and energy areas are going to be, I've been toying with the idea of a bright/yellow to gold colour which I think will really pop with the blue and white. Any ideas.

First up the Old Colour scheme:

So this coming week(end) challenge is to get this impressive guy complete (WIP). For those of you who have successfully assembled a Wraithknight... nice, it is a tough kit to get right. The plan is he'll be my large centrepiece of the army:

Just to indicate it's size...

Aye, it is. But I found it to be a very rewarding experience nonetheless! After building and painting one of these big guys I had a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

So, that's your airbrush job! Well, it looks great: very neat models. I'll take inspiration for sure.

Had parents stay for a couple of weeks so a very long time coming update, with the Wraithknight getting close to table top standard and pics below. Had a recommendation to pick purple as additional colour (after tossing up between yellow/green/pink/blue and purple) and I'm really happy.

So Wraithknight armed with Suncannon and Scattershield - haven't used him or played 6th so should be fun when I get a chance!!
