What is your favorite Mark of Space Marine Armor. The Mk I "Thunderer", the Mk II "Crusader", maybe you are into close combat and like the Mk III "Iron", how about the Mk IV 'Maximus", the Mk V "Heresy" armor, the classic beaky Mk VI "Corvus", how about the modern standard Mk VII "Aquilla", or the super elite Mk VIII "Errant"?

Beakies are the true mark of the marine :)

Aquila as the bog-standard, but I do have a soft spot for Mk IV and the Mk VIII.

Either MkIV or MkVII, though I think I lean in favor of MkIV.

Mk IV is great, I love it to bits. Problem is everyone loves it and its very common, which reduces its appeal to me. Mk VIII I like because of its bulk.

Forge World's interpretation of Mark IV is probably the most attractive one all things considered, but the Mark II looks simply stunning in massed red, so for balance's sake I'll pick that one for the poll.

Corvus. That they largely abandoned the original* annoys me greatly.

*yes, I know it was dubbed the mk vi, but the original models were Corvus armour.

Mark IV Maximus!
Followed by Mark III, Mark VI, mark VIII and then it is a wash.

Iron, it just looks mean.

Mk VIII Errant Armour I just love the heightened collar which covers the neck joint and partially covers the helmets snout.

The second to bottom line far right I loved that model.

Maxumus.

Although I'm also a fan of the slick Errant design of Jes Goodwin's that was done many years ago, it's a shame that never became the template for a new epoch of Astartes design.

Wow, I remember that page, but I don't remember Mk VIII being there. Totally thought it was only brought in with the last update!

Iron, it just looks mean.

This, though specifically I mean Forge World's take on it. The big masked helmets, the visibly thick and layered armor plates. . . I want my genetically enhanced killing machines to look unstoppable, and Iron pattern's the best there is at that (aside from TDA, of course).

I voted Mk. VIII, but I am also immensely fond of III, VI, V and IV in that order.

Mk II Crusade. Old, sturdy and it feels like a power armour.

Mk III Iron armor followed closely by Mk II Crusade armor.

Many Marines still feel that Mk II is the best. It's just such a pain in the ass to service and repair. And that whole non-moving helmet thing that isn't a problem anymore because it doesn't exist. But who am I to go against the Astartes? Mk II it is, with Mk III a close second for just looking so very angry.

Mk III, because that's basically what my old Plague Marines wear. I do like the beakies as well, though.

Mk V. It combines the best of the mk IV and mk VI, it has got those really cool cables which just scream of RT-era art, and it has got the best looking helmet of the bunch. Clear winner for me. :)

Forgeworld mk III, though of the marines I own a mk VIII deathwatch squad is my favourite.

The only armour that got me to actively buy a new army was the 3rd ed aegis terminator suits.

Mk V. Folks say the Mk III looks the fiercest - and it is pretty formidable - but the Mk V just looks pure, savage, battleworn sci-fi warrior. Best helmet too, it's screaming at you.

Maximus just beats out Errant, which is basically just an upgrade of the classic Aquila that sold marines to me in the first place. I never could take the beakies seriously.

Its mkVIII for me too (though i like seeing units of mixed armour types). You've got that collar to protect you from space vampires and the double-layered shoulder pads for, you know, looking hard and that. Shame Forgeworld dont produce a dedicated kit for it.

Main studio's version of MKIV. I really love the look of the small and slick mouth-grill-part of the helmet. I don't like the Forge helmet.

Mk VI for the win.

Mark III and Mark IV are by far my favourites (from Forgeworld), followed by Mark VII and Mark VIII. I don't really like the Mark VI (Beakies don't work for me).

Mark 4 'Maximus'. In this life and the next.

I hate beakies so would go IV and VIII although I like II and III but dislike painting III as theres more trim to paint so it takes longer.

Maxumus.

This, though I put Errant just a tad ahead of Maximus. Why no option for multiple favorites?

Mark IV is my favourite by a mile.

Mk IV or Mk VI, can't decide which, followed by MK II/III, then thunder armour, then errant, then VII Plate.

Cant beat Mk VII Aquila however I like Mk VIII Errant for my Sergeants and Captains.

My favorite is the Mk IX, but the AdMech haven't cleared it yet for general usage. (I think they just want to keep the best toys for themselves, though.)

Well, it's not on the poll, but the Mk XVI is pretty cool, at least the ones we see in Ultramarine service.

The Mk IV is a slick looking armor that I also quite like.

MKV all the way. If it is something that reminds me of the Horus Heresy timeline, it is this most brutal and unsofisticated armour!

Mark IV clinched it just ahead of Mark V for me.

There's something about FWs Mark IV armour that's very predatory.

13-09-2013, 19:53
voted maximus cause it's the closest to a good looking traitor armour I've seen (I'm not fan of mutations), but a close second is errant. intresting that the aquila recives so little love.

Reinforced Mk IV armour looks totally awesome, with the chest cables covered and whatnot, though Mk VIII looks awesome when not ridiculously blinged out and has extra ablative plates. Stock armour though, I go with Mk IV.

I voted IV, but if VII wasn't so common, I'd probably like it much more.

Mk V, all the studs make it look like a real bruiser.
