Hello everyone!
I started a blog ages ago but my lazyness preventing me from updating it I decided to start a new one altogether.
This one should be updated regularly albeit quite slowly as it is proving somewhat difficult to reconcile the hobby with my family life. As a matter of fact, and as a result of my 20 year old passion for 40k my partner likes to call me, not without affection, a loser. I do however fully embrace my loserness hence this log that I sincerely hope you are going to enjoy!

Thanks to my years of experience I do not lack skill but because I lack time - that's what happens when you become a dad - I had to take a different to painting and had to considerably shorten the process. For that reason I now use simple techniques involving as little hassle as possible but still allowing a satisfying level of realism.

Without further ado here is a little taste of what is to come...

Nice looking scheme. Though if thats mk.III armour the helm's couldnt be turned seperatly to the body. but then am also OCD with small things like that

Cant wait to see more!

Really nice blood angels, nice weathering on the armour.

I think forgeworld have changed that, though obviously I would have no problem with someone wanting to keep it the old way and sticking em like that. Also the Ones in the picture are MKII crusade armour anyway.

Indeed. Although the first MKII design from the Rogue Trader days had a mobile helmet as well. It was only with Jes Goodwin's later hybrid design with plastic arms that the helmet was riveted to the torso and could not move... that design, although awesome looking, did not make any sense in my opinion.

Some beautiful muted painting and weathering there. Realyl like how those Mark II's are shaping up and I think that sergeant will look ace in particular! My only other feedback would be I think the grain of sand you're using on the Cataphractii bases is a little too heavy for my taste - the pieces look a little large compared to the Terminator's feet. Other than that looks great - will be watching your progress with interest!

What I used for the terminators' bases is not actually sand and is not painted either. I am however going back to painted bases as it does indeed look much better!

Great start to the army, it's been a while since I've seen a heresy IX army. The weathering is just right and doesn't take away from the slightly bling-ier aspect of the Angels. Can't wait to see what you've got next :)

There are far too few Heresy armies of the best Legion out there,so glad to see someone working on correcting that error and with such evident skill.I look forward to seeing more.

Great looking stuff. If you don't mind, where are your chain axes from? They look a bit more balanced than the normal Forge World ten-pack.

Couldn't agree more. Apart from Mark II and Mark III really coming into their own in the red (not that Mark IV looks bad, but I think more colours work well for that mark), the relative lack of flat surfaces is a boon to anyone who struggles with getting a smooth red finish.

They are from the packs coming with phobos bolt pistols.

Another 5 and I will have a usable squad. Quite happy how those came out :-) Sorry for the quality of the pics... they don't do 'em justice. Also remade the terminator bases as the unpainted ones looked meh. Cheers guys!

I have only been able to spare a few hours to paint since the last update... and despite a 9 day holiday... so here is the 1st 10 man squad completed. Next will be a 10 man mk4 tactical squad whenever I find the time.

Here are pics of the new recruits and a nice family pic.

Enjoy! Cheers!

Thanks mate! I haven't been able to get anywhere near a paint brush since november... very frustrating... haven't had a minute to myself due to work, family, etc... It has just been getting a bit better though and there should be an update coming soon ;-)

I really like the weathering/armour damage you've painted on, any chance of a little tutorial? I think the red really suits the Mark II!

Nice start, a real dark, savage look to them.

I have a couple of weeks off work and should - finally - be able to get some painting done!
Here's a peak of what is to come... with a closer look at my attempt at making the MkV torsos look more like what they used to in ages long gone... Cheers!
