Are there any Kill Team rules for this edition? And if so, where can I find them? I wouldn't mind playing some 200 point Necromundaesque battles, particularly with Inquisitorial Henchmen squads.

They can be found in the back of the battle missions book. They aren't a bad rule set but they aren't amazingly versatile and there are some broken combos possible. Perma-Shrouded landspeeders for one. (This is because 3 of your models just gain a USR of your choosing). It still makes for some memorable games, I sent something like six sternguard and the afore-mentioned landspeeder of doom against my buddies Dark Eldar wyches and beasts. Massed grenade attacks are quite scary, luckily he tried to mass haywire my land speeder, but because I was parked over a puddle he couldn't assault. Got lucky and survived with a hull point, heavy flamer then murdered most of them.

Note that the free USRs are an optional rule of the most recent kill team rules (which are indeed in the battle missions book).

The rules are incredibly easy to break in 6th (torrent meltaguns! yeah!), so remember the golden rule: talk to the oppenent before the game.

Of course, there's Kill Team Rules (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2860630a_40K_Kill_Team_Pack_2013_(6).pdf) for the event announced this last summer.

This is the event pack for GW's kill team tournament in December: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3460063a_Kill_Team_Rules_Pack_2013.4.pdf

A couple of us are going up there for this. Interesting that it's just a one day thing.

Yea i'm going to that too! i'll be the one with the radical hereticus henchmen :D. If you'v not been before be prepared the games are very fast pased, you wont have time to check rules or spend a lot of time setting up, keep ye KT fast and below 15 models trust me.

I'v been to the last 3 (all of them i think!) they ran they rules have developed over time and feedback from 100's of games, its a good set well worked out.

do every model still operate as their own unit still?

Latro_

yea, but they can shoot their shots between multiple targets e.g. a marine with a heavy bolter can shoot 3 guardsmen

Awesome! Thanks for the link. I can't wait to make a 200 point Inquisitorial Henchman force and play a few games of Kill Team (Ah, if only Necromunda were still available, though. I'd love to play that again).

Interesting list. Quite a lot of shooting comes out of that chimera!

I've had a few practice games with friends. Iwoled out a list I was happy with, then discovered exactly the same list on dakka! Looks like I'm just copying, but I've got the models now and they are nearly ready, so not changing it.

I'm taking white scar marines. 5 sternguard (one of which is the leader) and 3 bikers. One bike will have grav gun and ignore cover and I'll give another one armourbane. Not sure wham at to do for my 3rd specialist. Might give my leader preferred enemy so he doesn't blow himself up with vengeance rounds.

Didn't see that you could split attacks with shooting as well. Interesting. I'd been considering GKs and that makes them look pretty badass.

I'd be tempted to five the grav gun bike shrouded, with with scars 4+ jink thats a 2+ cover save :D

Awesome, though Chaos got shafted 'again' with absolutely no extra benefit for being Chaos while Marines get chapter tactics, Eldar get battle focus etc etc...

Hmm that would be cool. I think ignores cover is good though because it's just so lethal, especially since he can fire his 3 shots at 3 targets. I think people are likely to take something that ignores cover anyway so shrouding on one guy probably isn't that great. Plasma gunners tend to take it a lot it seems, or to take preferred enemy.

Chaos aren't shafted by these rules. Warp storm would be ludicrous. Not being forced to fight challenges is a good thing. Atsknf is far less relevant with 1 wound independent models as mostly you don't take break tests, but you get access to ld10 for the army break test through votlw. Chaos are fine.

Nothing beats as many Reaver Jetbikes as possible. 1 getting shrouded, 1 getting stealth (they're going to be turbo-boosting the whole game anyways, so it's a 2+ cover save) and 1 with say cluster caltrops getting preferred enemy. Magic :) pure magic

I'm going to go for an all-around Inquisitorial Henchmen Kill Team. I selected the following:

Acolyte: Carapace Armor, Laspistol, Meltagun
Acolyte [Master-Crafted]: Carapace Armor, Laspistol, Plasma Gun
Acolyte: Carapace Armor, Laspistol, Boltgun
Arco-Flagellant: Arco-Flails
Crusader [Fleshbane]: Flak Armor, Power Sword, Storm Shield
Crusader: Flak Armor, Power Sword, Storm Shield
Daemonhost: Close Combat Weapon
Death Cult Assassin: Flak Armor, Two Power Swords
Death Cult Assassin: Flak Armor, Two Power Swords
Jokaero Weaponsmith [Shrouded]: Defence Orbs, Digital Weapons
Ministorum Priest: Flak Armor, Autogun, Chainsword, Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades, Rosarius
Psyker: Flak Armor, Laspistol

The first two Acolytes will be represented by the two Kasrkin with Special Weapons, while the third will be represented by a Necromunda Enforcer I own. The rest are the standard miniatures. As for the skill selections...

I gave the Acolyte with the Plasma Gun Master-Crafted for the simple reason that I didn't want him dying from Gets Hot!, so being able to reroll a 1 would be nice. That and it increases the odds of his hitting. The Crusader with Fleshbane is my leader, and he'll be able to wound anyone on 2+ now. The Jokaero is serving as my sniper with his lascannon/multi-melta digital weapons, so a good cover save for him was preferable. He's also my anti-vehicle element, along with the two Special Weapon Acolytes. And Death Cult Assassins are just awesome in hand-to-hand, particularly thanks to their high Initiative (They're equal to an Eldar Exarch!). The rest I took just because I wanted some variety. I almost took a Servitor, but I didn't want to deal with Mindlock. Is this a competitive Kill Team? Hell if I know! But it looks cool and fun, and for a half-hour game, that's pretty much all I want. :p

Yes they are, as every other army gets some sort of 'racial' ability from the new dexes. ATSKNF is pretty pointless granted but the MArine chapter tactics still shine, and they get those for free whereas chaos lose any free bonuses they had, period. I dont paticularly mind for Daemons as the warpstorm table would be a bit overpowered. CSM lose out to SM again in a way. VOTLW is good but its still paid for. Look at the new dexes again, then see which races keep their rules and which ones lose their rules that are beneficicial for them (ironically the hero increases from game to game are quite like the chaos boon table, 'count up models killed by your leader..........potentially get some kind of bonus).

That aside I love Kill Team, its a great set of rules and I think it allows you to break from the standard army syndrome. An inquisitor and some henchmen (like Eisenhorn for example) vs cultists and a marine (id allow allies if it was fluffy etc). Genestealer cult combining stealers and guard, Eldar corsairs attacking a guard dig site with pdf and human mercenaries/rogue trader etc

It is cool, yes. There are some issues though. Certain abilities don't really function for units when they are dropped to 1 guy. So for example the reaver jetbike vector strike thing mentioned above. Taking 22 pink horrors would be ridiculous (44d6 S5 shots a turn, potentially). So it does kind of need some ironing out I think, but it's great fun if you don't try to abuse it.
