View Full Version : War Rocket & Retro Raygun - Pulp Sci-Fi from Hydra Miniatures

Hi all,

It was my birthday at the beginning of the month and my lovely wife, as well as her parents (though they are less lovely ;) ), asked what I'd like and this is what I chose...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/WarRocketStuff_zps94cf0cf0.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/WarRocketStuff_zps94cf0cf0.jpg.html)

For those without the eyes of a eagle its:

Valkeeri Starter Fleet
Space Pirates Starter Fleet
War Rocket Rulebook
Valkeeri Squad & Support Gunner
Galacteer Ace MacGuire
Robot Legion Warbot
Some Litko counters

These minis are from Hydra Minatures (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/)' War Rocket & Retro Raygun ranges, some cool pulp sci-fi minis. I've already played my first game of War Rocket and it was a blast, fast and fun. I'm looking forward to getting both fleets painted up and expanding each fleet.

I started with the Valkeeri, my favourite race. The minis are great though unfortunately there were a few miscasts with my fleet but nothing to stop me painting them. To be honest, once I've painted the ships up I don't think anyone will notice.
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/WarRocketMis-Casts_zps00dbd5c3.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/WarRocketMis-Casts_zps00dbd5c3.jpg.html)

Here's the fleet laid out with a SM for scale. I believe that the class III & IV ships are resin with metal bits.
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriFleetWIP_zps5b2c9bfa.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriFleetWIP_zps5b2c9bfa.jpg.html)

I've got these guys undercoated now and have glued the bases on; I had to chop the little nipple of the base stand off to get a snug(ish) fit. I've also glued on some washers to the underside of the bases to keep them standing up.

I'm playing another game on 7th Jan so am hoping to get my fleet painted and some asteroids built for a mining mission we are playing. The rulebook has loads of characterful missions and I'd love to build more terrain; I have plenty of ideas.

If anyone is interested I'll write a little review of the rulebook but for those interested in reading a review of the game I can recommend this page... (http://wargameguru.weebly.com/in-focus-review---war-rocket.html)

I'd email them and let them know about the miscasts - even if your happy it will help them out, and it might be a problem with a whole batch (seriously, seeing a few pitted models when packing stuff was always a sure sign the whole batch was ropey).

I'd like a review. I've always been interested in the stuff Hydra do but never stumped up the cash.

Good idea Gomez, cheers. Email sent :)

Cool, well I'm off to my rents for the week next week so will try and type something up then. I had been interested in War Rocket since it was released but with a young family and a limited gaming budget (much of my minis etc are Bday & Yule presents) I'm always reluctant to splash out on a new game unless if I know what I'm getting and have ideally played a game or two. It was helps if there are some rules to download for free but without that WR was always a maybe. It wasn't until I found the review in my first post that I finally decided to dive in. It helps that with the planned release of Retro Raygun next year I'll finally be able to link land and space battles; somethign I would have gotten around to with 40k & BFG but GW dropped it.

Looks fun.

I would be waiting all game to shout, "Gordon's Alive!"

"Dispatch the War Rocket Ajax to bring back his body!" :D

Well, I contacted Hydra about the miscasts as Gomez suggested and even though I wasn't fishing for replacements Matt insisted on sending them anyway...ahh shucks :D So that's 2 more Class IIs and 3 Class Is to my Valkeeri fleet (the rest of the WR & RR minis were spot on).

I've got my next game planned for Tuesday so am trying to get my Valkeeri painted by then as well as making up 3 asteroids complete with mines for the scenario we are playing. That's one of the things I love already about this game, so many opportunities to play characterful scenarios and build cool terrain for them.

So, the main reason for this post (apart from the fact that's after my son keeping me up the last few hours and there being little point in going back to sleep now) is a review of the War Rocket rulebook (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/product_info.php?cPath=40_46&products_id=104)! Huzzah!

I'll dive straight in with a break down of the book:

It's 78 pages with a soft cover and a little under A4 in size
The cover as well as the last 4 pages are in colour with pics of various rockets at the back - both Hydra's minis & scratchbuilds
The interior artwork is B&W and predominantly 2-tone; its characterful with rockets (they're not called space ships in this game - retro all the way!) whizzing about and blasting the hell out of each other, what you'd expect really.

The page breakdown is:

Titles 7 Contents - 3pgs
Notes From the Design Team - 1pg
Fluff - 6pgs
Basic Rules - 14pgs
Fleet Lists - 14.5pgs
Space Objects (Terrain) - 2.5pgs
Scenarios - 8pgs
Advanced Rules & Rocket Customisation - 8pgs
Squadrons of Renown - 3pgs
Space Stations etc - 2pgs
Using Hex grids - 3pgs (the Basic Rules are for playing with a hex grid but they include a simple & efficient guide for using them too)
Ref Sheet & Summary - 2pgs
Fleet Ref Sheets - 4pgs
Painting & Modelling Guide (inc Colour Snaps) - 7pgs

This takes the form of a timeline, effectively re-writing history with the to invention of atomic rocket propulsion in 1949, humanities dispersion into space, attacks from the Saucermen (yep that's right :D ), the discovery of the Valkeeri (think Amazons in space) and the run-ins with the Empire of Marduk. At only 6 pages this might be a bit light for some but I think its well written, fun and characterful. Clearly a fair bit of though has gone into the WR background to create 4 distinct races that fit together well, none stand out as being tagged on.

Also in the book is a few pages of Squadrons of Renown. Each entry covers a named squadron with a short bit of fluff, a logo and a sample fleet.

The Rules
The rules are dead simple yet have plenty of subtlety. I've only played one game so far (game 2 is Tuesday) and we each played with a full starter set of 9 Class Is and 3 Class IIs in a simple shoot-em-up game. The rules were easy to pick up and fun, with plenty of ooo, ahh moments :D The game lasted about an hour though am sure it would be a bit quicker once we have the rules down. If you want to read more about the rules then check out this review (http://wargameguru.weebly.com/in-focus-review---war-rocket.html).

There are 4 fleets in the book:

Galacteers (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/index.php?cPath=40_41) - Humans...kinda retro Federation(ish) meets Buzz Lightyear
Imperium (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/index.php?cPath=40_43) - Think Emperor Ming! :D
Valkeeri (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/index.php?cPath=40_42) - Warrior Women :P
Zenithians (http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/index.php?cPath=40_44) - Saucermen from another dimension
A 5th fleet has since been added the Space Pirates (Dan Dare style rockets) and you can download their rules from Hydra Minis

Each fleet has 4 types of ships; Class I, Class II, Class III & Class IV. Class Is are the fighters while the Class IVs are the big daddies. The Galacteers are the fastest, the Imperium have the best armour, the Zenithians have the best fire arcs and the Valkeeri have the best range. Each rocket has a number of weapons with different fire arcs etc but these are easy to work out when using the hex bases you get with the minis.

There are 5 types of terrain included in the rules; Planetoids, Asteroid Fields, Nebula, Planets & Moons and Worm Holes. As you'd expect some block lines of sight, some movement and other both. Worm Holes are used in pairs and allow rockets to skip randomly around the board. Nebula sound a bit crazy with big screens hiding players rockets ready to launch forth and ambush their foes.

There are 9 scenarios in the book, they are very characterful and go beyond a simple kill em all! Well...apart from Shoot-Out but then everyone likes to annihilate their opponents every once and a while. The scenarios are:

Satellite Destruction - The attacker tries to destroy defence satellites before invading
Shoot-Out - kill 'em all
Asteroid Action - Break through the asteroid field to win
Mining War - First to collect 5 loads from the mines wins
Daring Rescue - Battle through the enemy to rescue a princess from an enemy compound
Assault on the Mothership - Bring down the BIG saucer!
Convoy Breakthrough - Get those freighters out of here!
Evacuation - Get those civilians out of here!
Lightning Raid - Grab some slaves!

Using Hexes
At the back of the book are a few pages to help players use a hex grid in their games. While some may not like the visual interruption to their playing surface it does look like its makes gameplay even faster and should help avoid any disagreements over fire arcs and ranges. I can see hex grid being the choice in a tournament.

Advanced Rules & Rocket Customisation
I've not used these rules yet. The Advanced Rules allow for Ramming, Boarding, Landing, Docking, Shoot to Stun & Minefields. Players can also customise their rockets with a range of crew and equipment upgrades, they can even customise their ships with a range of defects...should you wish.

There two main draws for me with War Rocket, the first being it sounded like (and is) a fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously; its full of cool scenarios with plenty of scope for terrain building and conversions. Also, with the expected release of Retro Raygun (30mm wargame) late this year, there will be plenty of opportunity to combine space and land games; I've even started to collect my Valkeeri land forces...just need to paint my fleet first. This game is definitely worth a look.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Hex mats in games. I'm glad those are only optional rules.

Do you plan on posting a batrep of your Mining War game?

Lost Egg
10-01-2014, 05:51
I'm not that organised, lol. I will try and post some batreps tho.

In the end we had three players (Valkeeri, Galacteers & Space Pirates). While the Valkeeri & Space Pirates went straight for the mining the Galacteers just blasted everything apart. In the end we teamed up against them, finally taking out half his fleet though not before he managed to leave with a single load of ore. I can't think that his superiors will be pleased...one shipment for the cost of 4 pilots and their ships :D Despte the carnage or maybe because of it, the game was great fun with as much banter fired across the table as atomic weaponry!

Ooo I think I can find some battle reports for you Easy E...here ya go! (http://mywarrocketblog.wordpress.com/?s=battle+reports&submit=Search)

17-01-2014, 04:25
Thanks for linking my and my partners War Rocket blog! As most of our games are played at the local game store The Sleeping Dragon searching for Sleeping Dragon should bring up more battle reports :) Apologies for the lack of many posts in recent months as a set of things has caused a lot of delays (we have a big pile of drafts needing fixing up for posting!) but there will be a slew more battle reports draft scenarios and fiction when life events permit. I'm looking forward to seeing your forces painted up :)

@battybattybats - Well thanks for posting articles and whatnot :) I read through your blog when I was thinking of getting into the game and it was pretty inspiring. Such a cool game yet without much web content. I have lots of ideas for terrain and so forth which I will be putting up here and on my blog when I have a bit more time.

Cheers, painting is going well but a bit slowly as we are trying to get the house sorted for the birth of our daughter in a few weeks time...argh, so much to do... :D

20-01-2014, 13:50
Indeed, when i found so little web content for it when we were deciding to give it a a try ourselves we decided to try blogging about our experiences giving the game a try and ended up finding it to be one of the most fun games we've ever played. Hopefully more people will discover it, certainly i've got several locals with fleets now.

The terrain ideas sound cool. Looking forward to those too :D And things will get even more exciting once the Retro Raygun rules are released. It's shaping up to be a fun year!

Things have been a little quiet with this project recently what with the impending arrival of our daughter. Still, I have managed to get a bit of work done so here's a WIP shot of the fleet so far...

Sorry its a bit of a naff shot but I was trying to sooth the aforementioned young lady at the time. Fingers crossed I can start painting again in a week or so once we have adjusted to having a young bairn in our life alongside a 'troublesome truck' toddler :D

Nice colour scheme! They look very cool :)

Sadly my fleet took a floor dive (or two) and are a little chipped though I've not yet had a chance to have a good look yet.

On top of this a new baby in the house has sent me into a mini Aspie meltdown at the mo so painting has stopped...if I can get my head sorted and these guys aren't too bad then I might continue otherwise they'll have to be stripped and won't likely see paint for a few months. :(

Babies are worse than cats when it comes to painting. :)

Lost Egg
20-03-2014, 19:04
The first baby was fine as I could paint while she slept & fed but the 2nd time around baby 1 is now a lot bigger and I don't fancy having any minis in the same room and less than 6ft off the floor :D

Right after a bit of google-fu I learnt of the stripping ability of Fairy Power Spray...a few squirts later and a night or two in a plastic tub and voila!
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/PaintStrippingWIP_zpsccc60b53.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/PaintStrippingWIP_zpsccc60b53.jpg.html)
Scrubbing time!

So, now the rockets have been returned to bare metal what's the plan?
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/PaintStripped_zps10fbd529.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/PaintStripped_zps10fbd529.jpg.html)

Fairy Spray worked wonders by the way, it stripped the metal rockets and the plastic bases no problem. I even dunked a resin missile pod in the stuff (for a few hours) and that cleaned up OK.

Oh yeah...the plan. I'm thinking my painting has got fussy the last few years and so I want to focus on a small fleet of 70pts (2 Class IIs & 4 Class Is) and simplify my painting but without surrendering quality. The aim is to stick with much the same colour scheme, making it smoother. I also have some ideas for a few small conversions but we will just need to see how things go.

Lost Egg
31-03-2014, 20:32
Well this little drama continues with a some what smaller fleet, 70pts gets me...

2 Class IIs & 4 Class I rockets! Pew, pew, pew!!!

I also managed to get enough time tonight to poke around some GS...

It was going to be cast up and used a jet exhausts for the rockets but have realised that even in metal it would likely end up bent and chipped :( I will keep it though as have some ideas for a War Rocket diorama.

More progress this weekend...hopefully...

Mini update time.

Salute War Rocket & Retro Raygun purchases...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/Salute2014WWampRR_zps1894f5e0.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/Salute2014WWampRR_zps1894f5e0.jpg.html)

Here's a couple of shots comparing the four classes of Valkeeri rockets...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriRockets1_zps301957ba.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriRockets1_zps301957ba.jpg.html)

Wargames Emporium hadn't had their order in time to bring many goodies to Salute so this morning I also ordered a pack of 3 Zenithian class 1 rockets and a class 2; this will build a small fleet of 70pts...well once I've paid the points for their force fields too! :D

After another painting disaster I stripped the rockets again and have under coated them once more. I just need to take some pics of my Forge World order from Salute (miscasts and I need replacments) then I can slap some paint on them.

I've not been idle the last week or so but have been sketching up some War Rocket terrain for my Valkeeri homeworld. First though I need to paint some rockets.........

Lost Egg
09-05-2014, 20:54
Finally, at long last I have some painted rockets!
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriFleet_zpsddeedc8f.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/ValkeeriFleet_zpsddeedc8f.jpg.html)
After three attempts I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I've plenty more Valkeeri to paint but next up are some opponents, 70points each of Space Pirates...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/PirateFleetWIP_zps35e2a5ed.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/PirateFleetWIP_zps35e2a5ed.jpg.html)
Scale shot against a Valkeeri...

Thought I'd share a pic of some of the counters and whatnot I use; the explosions are Hit markers, the lightning are Stun & the scanners are Delayed Actions...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/WRCounters_zpsd95c80b1.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/WRCounters_zpsd95c80b1.jpg.html)
The explosions are especially cool, they really add flavour to games. :D

Lastly, here are some pics of some terrain I've been playing about with...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/FutureWRTerrain_zpsf813648d.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/FutureWRTerrain_zpsf813648d.jpg.html)

Obviously, they are far from finished, I may even start again with the mining asteroids, will just have to see.

Well it is a little quiet around here...

...anyway, I've not been idle the last few weeks, I've been slowly working away on a game board after a handy 3ft sq off cut of MDF came my way. The plan is to fix a frame around it of pine strip wood then have a 2" hex grid for War Rocket on one side and the other will be a generic grass & gravel board for 40k, World of Twilight, Total Extinction etc.

After knocking around a few ideas I decided to create the grid using card hexes glued in place. I've marked the grid out on the board and still have about 120 hexes to mark up and cut out...but have run out of cereal card for the mo :D
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/HexPlan_zps0ab2bae9.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/HexPlan_zps0ab2bae9.jpg.html)
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/MDFHexGrid_zpsfcb96366.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/MDFHexGrid_zpsfcb96366.jpg.html)
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/HexesBatch1_zps6973279c.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/HexesBatch1_zps6973279c.jpg.html)

Once all the hexes are cut out I'll spend more than a few evenings struggling to glue the buggers in place with the (probably) vain attempt to get them looking evenly placed. Hopefully soon I can also get the frame fitted around the edges of the board as they are getting a little knocked up.

After I've got this bad boy done I can then return to finish painting my Space Pirates. Pew, pew!

Easy E
26-06-2014, 17:26
Hmmmm, I guess I forgot that this game used Hex movement.

That board looks like some tedious work. Good luck!

Lost Egg
27-06-2014, 06:39
War Rockey doesn't use hexes but it does have some rules so you can use them. I reakon the hexes might make gameplay a little quicker but its easy enough not to use them.

Oh yes...I still have about 20 hexes to cut out (when I have more cereal card) then the real tedious job of aligning them all and glueing them down begins :D

Lost Egg
24-07-2014, 20:39
Well, the grid is all glued on now...

I've started painting the board, though its just black with white flecks; hopefully by the end of next week it will be painted...well the space side anyway.

Lost Egg

Work on the board continues...

I've painted it up and slapped on a couple of coats of gloss. Tomorrow I can hopefully sand off the paint along the frame. After that I will probably finish off the Space Pirate fleet.

Super cool! I look forward to some battle reports on this board.

Is it 4x4?

Lost Egg
07-08-2014, 06:55
Cheers :)

Nope, it's 3ftsq. A bit on the small side compared to the scenarios in the rulebook (they vary in size but are from 4ftsq...I think) but I think they will work well for small, fast paced games. The game has very much a dogfighting feel so ranges are short; I think it should work well.

At long last an update, first up...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/3ft%20Game%20Board/AsteroidsWIP_zps5b6a93b3.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/3ft%20Game%20Board/AsteroidsWIP_zps5b6a93b3.jpg.html)

Asteroids for War Rocket! I'm making 6 plain ones (well one looks suspiciously like Pac-Man eating a Valkeeri class 1 rocket) and 3 mining asteroids; the mining asteroids (the 3 bigger ones) are used in a scenario where the winner grabs the most ore by the end of the game. I am starting to dress the mining asteroids up tonight then once thats done I can glue on the sand and paint them up.

Next I finally finished painting my Void Hawks Space Pirates...
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/VoidHawkFleet_zpsb885816d.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/VoidHawkFleet_zpsb885816d.jpg.html)

I was trying for a sleek and dangerous feel with these guys. The basic colours etc were basically copied from the Space Pirates rules on the Hydra website but done with my own limitations / style.

and my first Retro Raygun mini, Dirk Black leader of the Void Hawks!
http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w418/Lost-Egg/War%20Rocket/DirkBlack_zpsa748d8ae.jpg (http://s1074.photobucket.com/user/Lost-Egg/media/War%20Rocket/DirkBlack_zpsa748d8ae.jpg.html)

This guy is actually from the Galacteers but as DB is meant to be a defected Galacteer I thought he'd work well so I gothed him up to match the rockets. I would say the flash does make the highlights look a lot less subtle, doh.

Sorry about the naff pics but taking photos in the day is a no-go at the mo what with our young son in a full on terrible 2s mood :D

22-09-2014, 12:05
Very nice log so far. Can I ask what you have used to make the asteroids?

Cheers Tzarinchilla. It's foam insulation board that I picked up from B&Q, I just peeled off the reflective backing and plucked away.

The asteroids have all been coated in play sand now and a coat of PVA so the next step is to try and sculpt some airlocks for the docking ports and little caps for the hex bases.

Warning: Mining in an asteroid field is not for the faint hearted!

Great stuff. :D I'm a big fan of the Retro Raygun range but I have to say that what you did with the space rocketships is very impressive too. Looking forward to seeing more Retro Raygun minis!

Love the asteroids and their inclusions. ;-)

Sent from a Samsung Galaxy S4 far, far away...

Thanks guys :D

More Retro Raygun minis to come Sigur but not for a while...sorry :(

Going to be re-starting my Wolves (again) then I'd like to make a bit more War Rocket scenery (planet-side this time) and either my Zenethian mini-fleet or more Space Pirates & Valkeeri as I have some larger rockets for both.

I would love to read a few more battle reports too.

Don't worry Easy E, a battle report or two is due. Things have been a bit manx around here lately with a shed load of DIY jobs and my sister-in-law is getting married this weekend so my good lady is a little frazzled. Will try and get a game or two in next week, complete with pics.

Oops i forgot to check this thread for ages and look at all the brilliance i am late in seeing!

Wow that's some great stuff!
Great board, great asteroids. I've been needing to make some asteroid bases for ages and that definitely gives me some ideas.
And i really like your leader, using Ace works well.

Cheers BattyBatty Bats! :) I'm currently working, slowly, on my new Space Wolves at the mo but I intend to do a few palette cleansers between units so will be back soonish with some Zenethians...and I still have my Retro Raygun Valkeeri to do. Shame with the postage included, and import tax, it was too pricey to jump in on Hydras sale as those new Valkeeri panthers, controllers and those rocket sledges are very cool...willjust have to pick some up from Salute.

I've been mainly working on knights/mechanicum but i'm almost feeling ready to paint up my Robot Legion Retro Raygun force, i have more robots some valkeeri and kithix in the post on their way and the blog should be much more active this year than last.

I've got a single Warbot from the Robot Legion to build and paint up but just too much to paint....argh! :D

Painting has been a bit slow at the moment as I've been trying to get my 500pt marine army done. To help things feel like they are moving along I decided to paint up the Robot Legion Warbot I grabbed a year or so ago.

It was a fun mini to paint, no plans to add anymore at the mo. While the Retro Raygun line is quite cool it is a bit pricey so I'm not likely to be adding many more of its minis to my collection. I do still have some Valkeeri to paint up at some point as well as some extra rockets I picked up at Salute. I also grabbed a 3ftsq space mat from MicroArt at Salute for 20.

I also grabbed a copy of the Retro Raygun rulebook at Salute. Its a nice book but I'm not really sure why it was so much more expensive than the War Rocket one. The rules look like they could be fun but it just doesn't quite grab me, plus for the same cost of a half decent force I could grab a lot of other minis. Maybe one day.

Nice stuff. Cool pulp models, nicely painted, great terrain and it's even got hexes. This man approves. A lot. :)

After just re watching Sky Captain, that War Robot looks mighty tempting. I didn't realize how big it was!

See this is where you and I differ, I dropped a wad of cash on pretty much the entire range at Salute lol

@Easy E - I know, he's a monster! I didn't realise quite how big he was till I built him :D

@cornonthecob - If only I had a wad of cash :( :D

I'll admit I felt a bit bad since I pretty much cleared out Empress Miniatures stock of RR stuff (still had a few bits but not alot lol) but it was very much worth it lol

I'm only missing a unit of sky sledders ('ive got one but i'll use her as the hero), two valkeeri Heavy Weapons troops and the Robot for the Galacteers. It's all primed and assembled just needs some paint now.
