Hello everyone, I've been a long time fan of Judge Dredd and his universe, even though I haven't read that much of the comic I've always liked the aesthetics and the setting very much.
I have seen the models for the miniature game pop up every now and then, and it has always had my attention, so when I saw the starter set in my FLGS the other day, I knew I had to get it.

The box isn't that big, but quite heavy and feature a lovely artwork of Dredd smashing in the heads of some low life creeps.

Just look at that! How can you not be intrigued by this game?!

Here's what the contents of the box looks like.

You get:
-A Justice Department Gang (Judges)
-A Street Gang (Punks and Creeps)
-The Rulebook
-2 Exclusive Models for this box, one for each gang
-A quick start guide.

I was a bit disappointed when I found out that they do not include any dice in this box. But since the game use standard D10 I'm sure I'll manage to find some from my roleplaying days.
A word on the rulebook, it's gorgeous with lots of lovely pictures from the comic books.
I've started to read the rules and they seem simple and fun enough. Will have to wait with the final verdict after a couple of games.
Besides the rules it also got a lot of worldbuilding and explaining of the world at the back of the book. All in all, good stuff.

I put together the two gangs rather promptly, some of the models had some ugly mold lines and flashes and most of them required a lot of cleaning.
I'm thinking of black inking them so I don't miss any of the mold lines.
One street punk lost a hand in the process as well, have to find a replacement.

I bought some warmachine bases to replace the standard ones as I think these types of bases works better for skirmish games.

The plan is to paint up these two gangs over the holidays and have a go at the game.
I also have a "city of death" terrain box I plan to put together. Should work pretty well as some very run down Mega City-1 block.

I've also started adding sand to a MDA board which will serve as my game board (it's 12"x12" and I will most likely need 4 of them).

Looking forward to this, see ya!

Ps. Since I picked up interest of this game I have read up a lot on the comics, wouldn't feel right otherwise, great stuff!

Yeah! Looking forward to following another JD plog.
Just on the subject of your game board, the rulebook recommends a 4'x4' table. You can play on a 2'x2', but it's going to be pretty brutal and probably give the Judges a bit more of an advantage over the punks.
Anyway, the big question is: blue or black for your Judges' uniforms? :D

Huge fan of your batman minis. Kinda wishthe dredd models would have the same excellent sculpts as thoose. But on the other hand I really do like the old school feel of the dredd minis. Part of the appeal to me. Looking forward to paint these.

I caved in and are really glad I did, when I showed this to my gaming group at least one other seemed interested to start a east-meg gang. We could get a apocalypse campaign going!
Yeah, I have to go out and by 3 more mdf boards, but I think I could get at least a test game on the small table.
I'm still torn about the uniforms, black or blue, black or blue? I think I might go for a really dark deep blue.

Sorry for the long wait, I finally finished painting my first miniatures for the Dredd game.
A Street Judge and a Street Punk got to act as my test models. I really enjoyed painting these two and I'm eager to start on the rest of them!
