View Full Version : If you were a loyalist Space Marine, which of the following would you be?

These include all their variants in certain chapters etc. (e.g. An Interrogator Chaplain is a Chaplain and a Master of the forge is still a Techmarine)

Techmarine or Chaplain. Hard to say. I put in Techmarine since I work with technology pretty well, but I tend to be the straight-laced holy type, so a Chaplain would work, too.

I put in Chaplain for a few reasons:
1. I'm good at motivating my team through wise words
2. I'm the type who never gives up at the task at hand until it is complete
3. I like to lead by example
4. I hate Xenos, Mutants and Traitors (Except Heresy-era Iron Warriors) while also thinking that the Emperor is a pretty cool guy
5. I'd be a Dark Angels Interrogator Chaplain because I'm both good at "interrogating" People while also hating the Fallen (Because they're evil)
6. For the Lion and the Emperor!

Obviously everyone here would be a servitor. Or dead. The sheer narrow-minded, genocidal, xenophobic, psychopathic and mindless brutality that is required to be a space marine are (hopefully) not traits held by anyone on this forum.

You speak words of Heresy, Brother. Space Marines are narrow minded to protect them from corruption. Genocidal-Only against enemies of the Emperor (Who are bad people, the type who eat your children for breakfast e.g. the Fallen are this kind of evil). Xenophobic only because aliens are evil. Psychopathic-Who do you think we are, the World Eaters? Mindless Brutality-We may be brutal (against bad guys) but it is NOT mindless.

My preference would be Librarian, I think. Access to forbidden knowledge and all.

Why no Battle Brother?

05-01-2014, 04:11
Pilot or tank commander, gotta love them vehicles

05-01-2014, 08:12
Librarian, closest thing to a scientist.

Some would hold that techmarines are that but no the ad mech have no idea how stuff works, they are slaves to the instruction manual.

There's no Battle Brothers because they are not speciallists in special areas such as oratory, psychic powers, etc. These are specialists, but if you really want to be just another Brother Marine you can be

Albeit I'm really fond of psykers, I think I'd like to be a Techie. They're generally at the backfield - or even don't go to the battlefield. So, they're one of the safest options to be a Marine ^^

I have no discernible skills, besides looking good and doing great poses.

So I'd be a chapter master.

05-01-2014, 10:46
Techmarine. I like building and modifying things, and having servitors deal with painting them.

Commissar Davis

Chaplain of the Black Templars (demi legion) Chapter, and do my best to emulate ol' Grimmy.

05-01-2014, 12:53
I'd be a Librarian, subtly corrupting the chapter from within just as the warp is subtly corrupting me.

06-01-2014, 01:24
I'd want to be a librarian. Just so I could find a way to transfer my soul to another body for all eternity. No getting ripped apart by daemons for me.

06-01-2014, 03:53
A chaplain, for a few reasons. I always excel in a battle when the cause is most hopeless. Stubborn and extreme devotion to the cause, whatever that may be. I also greatly love desperate last stands against impossible odds. Aside from that, they get to wear the great skull helmets and never accept surrender or defeat.

06-01-2014, 04:15
I said Chappy but a vet scout sgt would best match my skill set.

06-01-2014, 04:38
Librarian, being all mystical and esoteric! :p

06-01-2014, 04:53
Librarian, respected member of the chapter a marine in essence with all the extra stuff of being able to control the warp

Grand Master Azrael
06-01-2014, 04:58
I probably have already mentioned this, but I'd be good as a Chaplain cos I never give up and if it's a last stand, I won't beg for mercy-I'll take as many enemies with me as I can, to show them the Emperor's fury incarnate.

Logic, Pure and Simple. Techmarine!

Rogue Trooper

Librarian in terminator armour with a combi plasma. I'm a bit insecure so every bit of protection helps

06-01-2014, 09:58
I am far too old to become a Space Marine and when I was young enough, would never have passed the trials. So Servitor.

06-01-2014, 10:38
Chaplain for sure, inspiring your brothers to massacre!

You also get a rosarius and a wicked skull helmet!

06-01-2014, 12:46
Sanguinary Priest the best Apothecary or a Librarian both greatly respected members of their army.

06-01-2014, 12:53
I would be an Iron Hands Librarian. I run the IT department for a library consortium in real life so it seems fitting. :D

Ditto. I am under no illusions when it comes to how bleak my chances for even mere survival in the 40k setting would be.

06-01-2014, 13:28
Logic, Pure and Simple. Techmarine!

In the grim darkness of the 41st millenium there is no logic.

I tried to answer honestly. Although I have no psychic powers, it would be the wider duties of a librarian that most suited me. I'm a historian by education, and teacher by trade. Being responsiple for preserving the knowledge of the chapter, of imparting it to aspirants and brother marines would most likely suit my temperament.

However, in all honesty, I think I lack the singlemindedness to have ever succeeded in becoming a marine in the first place. I'm too fickle, my interests flick from here to there too quickly. I'd train desperately for a bit, but then my interest would be peaked by some other aspect of imperial life and I'd be learning all I could about becoming a techmarine or something, before eventually getting distracted and ending up reading up on how to be an inquisitor. I imagine, were I not forcibly conscripted, I'd have become a teacher in 40k too. It's just who I am.

06-01-2014, 16:36
I would say Tech-Marine, because I will make new and powerful weapons, armour and tanks for my marine brethren, and when/if the Mechanicus comes calling, I would greet them with a large smile, the frase "Problem, Mechanicus?" and a loudspeaker with the trololo song playing.

I'd be a Chaplain, with a bike, because the only thing more awesome than being a Chaplain is being a Chaplain with a bike.

07-01-2014, 00:54
Bike chaplains are pretty awesome I won't lie. Bring the wrath of the righteous, just as quick as you can.

07-01-2014, 01:12
Probably a librarian since I can shoot fire out of my hands....

Wait, What?:shifty:
