I'm doing this because I've already done the loyalist version. For me it's Iron Warriors

There's no poll because apart from the legions, there are a lot of Warbands

true. I will say though that the more HH Black Library books come out about them, the more I become interested in the Ultramarines as a Legion not a 40k Chapter lol

Red Corsairs, for a number of reasons. Firstly, how cool is the idea of pirates IN SPAAAAACE!!! Secondly, they actually have a lot of character if you look deeper than that, I'm interested in the Badab War background and how really they were good guys to begin with, but they screwed over by the Imperium they were trying to protect and when the whole thing went south they did what they had to to survive. Lastly, I've liked Huron as a character ever since the 2nd edition Chaos codex (and before that really, seeing the various 'Tyrant of Badab' quotes sprinkled through rulebooks), he just seemed like the coolest character in that book and at the time, as the only real post-heresy chapter discussed in detail, the Corsairs seemed to me to represent a more immediate threat than the Legions. The Heresy was 10,000 years ago, and to much of the Imperium, Horus and the traitor legions would have passed in to mythology, being spoken of as ancient battles between gods in a bygone era. The Corsairs reminded to the Imperium that large numbers of marines turning traitor was still a very real and current threat that couldn't be put down to survivors from an ancient war raiding from the Eye of Terror.

Having said that, I've always been a big fan of the Word Bearers and Death Guard (or anything Nurgle, really), though these days as they've all been explored more there's not really any Legion that I dislike.

Alpha legion always coming back from eradication. Also one of their primarch is still alive and not some corrupted demon.

Iron Within! Iron Without!
(Honestly, the tre Space Marine gods of siege warfare wear unpainted-metal power armour, not yellow power armour!)

Death Guard or Emperor's Children. I've never really been able to choose between them.

Word Bearers. I can drive my friends crazy preaching the Word of Lorgar :p

07-01-2014, 13:05
Night Lords all the way! :P

Word Bearers, everytime i read anything about them, they make me want to start an army of them & they have the best primarch IMO.

So as evidenced by the responses, Legions should go away and nobody likes them. Thanks, GW!

Alpha Legion, hoping I can play them in the next CSM Codex.

My favourite Warband is Be'Lakor leading his small band of Obliterators and ~30 Cultists, guarded by trusty flights of dragons and his second Daemon Prince mate if he feels up for it. Judging by the Battle Reports section, everyone seems to love this one!

On a slightly more serious note I like all of the founding Legions, with a soft spot for both Night Lords and Word Bearers.

The Sons of Horus!

Thousand sons, closely followed by The. Word Bearers.

Death guard. all hail the benevolent grandfather.

The Iron Warriors are my favorite, but I like the Red Corsairs, Black Legion, Word Bearers and Death Guard too.

Iron Warriors definitely, probably Word Bearers as a distant second. If I were to start a Chaos army, it'd 100% be Iron Warriors because they are that badass.
