i have never played a single game of WH/WH40K or any table top game
but i do love the mini's
i also love really bad b movies, so i went and put some of my zombie movies and a few boxes of GW minis in a quiet room with some candels and a little jazz and WHAMMIE

undead mini's
( i dont claim to be the worlds greatest painter or sculptor so dont make a grown man cry )

and just for fun an ork who just wants to be loved

if you cant beat 'em kill them and steal there clothes

A neutral shade of black.
09-06-2006, 21:00

If you can get an entire army of those up, they'd make very nice Lost and the Damned. Awesome theme.

09-06-2006, 21:01
nifty, thought I don't know about the sandal wearing space marine ;)

09-06-2006, 22:46
Cool, i'd close your other thread BTW ;)

09-06-2006, 23:18
Wow! Thats really cool looking. Since this is the project logs, you should make some more posts. Perhaps a pic of them painted.

10-06-2006, 08:24
ok here goes
as more guys are done i will post

Red Skullz
10-06-2006, 08:37
Bone looks a lot better if you add brown into the mix. So basecoat with black, then do a layer of say snakebite leather, then kommando khaki and finish of with some bleached bone. An easy way of painting bone that looks fairly good imo.
With more layers the effect will seem more natural. Take the face for example which clearly is only with lines of white on a black basecoat. With the 2 stages of brown and khaki those lines would have looked more natural instantly.

Not meaning to be harsh here just trying to help cause those conversions deserve a decent paintjob.

10-06-2006, 13:42
I agree with red skulls,Those are some great conversions, but you should really take your time on it. I can understand if you arent the worlds greatest painter (That title belongs to the eavy' metal team) but you could at least try painting things like the imperial eagle's and add some detail to the bone color. you might also consider simply tidying him up

10-06-2006, 14:37
I love that Cadian Zombie - I hope you don't mind if I 'yoink!' it for my future planned Zombie horde? ;)

10-06-2006, 19:01
Looks great, that cadian zombie rocks big time! I seriously recommend making a Lost and the Damned -army from these, some undead tank crews could look really nice. Anyways, your converting skills are REALLY good

10-06-2006, 20:14
in my defence he isnt finished :P

10-06-2006, 23:05
Oh... well nevermind then ;)

11-06-2006, 05:51
ive always liked the idea of undead stuff in 40k. very nice paint and sculpt job. id really like to see an undead flamer trooper with a bursted flame tank. make it look like he's dieing... again....

11-06-2006, 06:02
nice idea i am trying to do a melta hit marine
burnt bone melting armour

a burst flamer sounds cool

12-06-2006, 19:48
ok here is some more undead goodness
10 mins for the simple ones and 3hrs + for the good ones this army might take awhile

flamer needs more gs

12-06-2006, 19:52
rest of the squad

these also need more gs

i have bled for these guys
ran out of band aids and it hurts to type

12-06-2006, 19:58
fantastic! i love them.
that flamer is brilliant.

keep it up.

oh how about a guardsmen with an exploded plasma weapon (granted after being covered in superheated plasma there wouldn't be much left but hey).

also chainsaw weilding zombies are always fun (a sarge prehaps).

12-06-2006, 20:10
Love the original guardsman, looks great. The marine captain has that archaic feel, like that. Not sure bout the ork though, just a bit too busy. As for the second batch, the flamer is a nice idea and quite well executed, but the others seem a bit simple by comparison- they are nice figs, but the amount of time you spent on the others makes them seem a bit basic.

Love the work though, look forward to seeing more

12-06-2006, 20:42
The ork is great. Maybe do a dark eldr one. If it looks marine-ey enough maybe gw will give them a new codex.

12-06-2006, 21:07
I am loving the grave, looking awesome, now get them painted!!

12-06-2006, 21:11
Give him a chance mate!

wally, them'd be some truly inspired conversions. Now how's about ogryns and rough riders?

Dave out.

12-06-2006, 22:46
Heehee no Dave, just to spite you. (of course Wally you can paint them whenever you wish) but I have to spite Dave, so here goes. Wally I demand you paint them!!! lol

13-06-2006, 08:29
please dont beat me master i will finish them

14-06-2006, 14:01
these are looking really good, the converting of the first model is excellent.
will you be doing rough riders? because if so you could do a 4 horsemen of the apocalypse thing (except that rough riders are 5 men minimum). At any rate GW do some fairly decent skeleton horses for Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings.

14-06-2006, 21:20
ok untill i ruined my finger turning a necron into an ABC warrior
necron + BIG SHARP KNIFE + soft pink finger + 5am = blood lots and lots and lots and lots of blood with a side of girly screaming

i got this far

14-06-2006, 21:24

still need to do details and such but as my finger is in a giant white bandage it might take a while

*edit* what codex is the lost and the damed in?

14-06-2006, 22:44
Wow! those are great, I'm lookin' forward to seeing more painting!

The LatD list in in the eye of terror codex

14-06-2006, 23:27
It looks great, I like it.
The flamer guy is amasing

19-06-2006, 04:35

19-06-2006, 04:37

plasma dude

*edit* why is it only after you post the pics you can see the unmixed GS/crap brush strokes?

19-06-2006, 04:39
The flame thrower trooper is, by far, my favorite. Keep 'em coming.

19-06-2006, 05:35
Agreed the flamerthrower rocks. Also a fan of the (ex-)plasma gunner.

Keep it up

19-06-2006, 08:36
after ruining my fingers on the weekend (then working )

have moved on to my daemon

5inch tall scratch built skelly

GS over a wire core

the pile of loops is the rib cage

now just gotta buy so oven putty

19-06-2006, 16:54
I really like them now, much better bones. The only part I find lackluster is the flamer who looks like he has yellow skin and no eyes. Mabye its just the pic...

20-06-2006, 07:55
For fast fixing of your cuts etc with no need for badnaids etc, use Super Glue! Ive stopped using small bandaids and just dry the surfance and apply super glue to the cut, works fine up to 0.5 inch cuts with just a dab of glue.. and by the time the super glue falls off on its own (1-2-3 days depending on how much you work with your hands etc ) the cut wont start bleeding again.. =)

Gonna steal some ideas of yours I think and see how they turn out for me. I need to do some chaos veteran squads, and I dotn fancy buying a mutation sprue or 3, so Ill try some skelly bits I got left over from my VC army..

20-06-2006, 13:32
Why don't you use the bone giant as a core for the daemon prince?

I like the conversions. The plasma guy is my favorite. If you're not that good at painting, I'd reccomend posting them smaller. Now they look a lot worse then I guess they'd look in real life. I do the same thing.

20-06-2006, 22:16
looking very nice (especially the plasma -am i correct in guessng he hasn't got much face left, pic is a little dark around his face).

wire sketeton looks good can't wait to see it come to life (or unlife...guess it depends on your vewpoint).

keep it up.

21-06-2006, 08:10
I really don't want to sound like a dick.. but I have to say this.

PLEASE learn to paint. PLEASE. I Adore your conversions, an undead Legion of the damned army would be awesome to see and that first model is exactly how I'd want to see it. Hell you've inspired me and if I had the cash and didn't play a non-mutant Chaos army I'd make it.

Your conversion is amazing and you really should try doing a full unit. But for the love of god, sit down and learn to paint, read some tutorials and take your time to paint well. You convert like a master, but paint like a newbie.

I'm trying not to be a jerk, but still be honest.. it's just so difficult not to be heart broken at the painting when you see some minis converted as well as that guard is.

21-06-2006, 18:18
dude i hear you i look at my painting and it sickens me
(no ****) i hate my painting

if a good painter will give me there addy i will post some unpainted mini to them so they can do it
in aussie would be good but any where else is fine

good with a blade crap with a brush :)

Rabid Bunny 666
21-06-2006, 18:26
practice on metal models, you can paint strip them and go again

Inquisitor Kallus
21-06-2006, 23:48
The flamer guy reminds me of the dude from Deep Rising,...............the half digested guy, who just melts, awesome. (O.T.)Hey Jack, why dont you post up some of your conversions, like your Luna Wolves, always enjoy seeing your work.

23-06-2006, 07:49
ok this army is going to be done as a "daemon hunter" force it lets me do almost every thing

undead land raider any one

fluff wise

Inquisitor Maculo Macellarius
lost in the warp
hate for the taint of chaos so strong he was able to keep his company alive after death
traveling from system to system purging all, as life is a doorway to chaos and only thru death can man be safe (judge death style, the warp drives you a little crazy)

p.s also new paints have arived so i will attempt to improve my painting >:)

24-06-2006, 00:44

You've inspired us all with this thread. Keep up the amazing work :)

24-06-2006, 05:16
Inspired is right! I look forward to seeing your daemon as you put him together as I too will be doing a wire rib cage for an upcoming project.

04-07-2006, 16:36

Rabid Bunny 666
04-07-2006, 16:58
That gun is awesome dude, i'd comment on the minis, but my monitor is darker since my mum dropped it at PC world

04-07-2006, 17:07
:D I absolutely LOVE that mortar crew! Its clearly meant to be funny, and, unlike many attempts at incorporating humour into models, it works really bloody well!

Good show old boy!

As for the flamer guy; I love the skull showing and everything but the paintjob really does need working on I am afraid.

Salty :)

04-07-2006, 17:08

05-07-2006, 10:57
Excellent work, that mortar is inspired, just inspired

05-07-2006, 11:13
loving the army so far, not too keen on the shotgun, but the plasma is fantastic, how the core has exploded, killing its gunner :D very creative!

05-07-2006, 13:59
Being a Vampire Count player for many years - those customs ROCK!!!!

06-07-2006, 17:11

*edit* pic resize

09-07-2006, 02:18
if you do Lost and the damned. You wouldn't need to do undead weapon teams, and you could do more undead Space marines and stuff.

list wise, use thousand sons of Tzeench and upgrade you mutants to "plague zombies". a Mutant gift has absolutly no relation to a chaos mark. None, so a plague zombie could easily be a reanimated corpse by any ol' sorcerer.

that and The Thousand Sons are pretty much undead anyways.

09-07-2006, 15:15
haha i love the standard bearer!

Rabid Bunny 666
09-07-2006, 15:19
Cool :)

That Standard Bearer rocks!

edit: with the medic, i'd cut the Packs in two and put them on the waist.

09-07-2006, 15:30
Some really nice work. Have a look thorugh all the undead Bloodbowl models, there are some really nice ones you could work with.

09-07-2006, 17:41
Cool :)

edit: with the medic, i'd cut the Packs in two and put them on the waist.

i was trying for this look medic bag (http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/personal/combatkit/combatkit2.html)

09-07-2006, 17:43
