Hey guys

Would like to share with you a new addiction of mine. Discovered Infinity awhile back but never got round to picking some up. Bought my first models the other week and started painting. What do you think? Comments and criticisms very welcome, looking to improve!

Also, are the pictures obnoxiously large? Is there an easy way to resize them?

Cheers

Chew.

They actually look to be rather good sized

Very nice!

My only nitpick would be the holster, which seems to be the same color as her hair and could (I think) do with something more muted.

She looks good! I like the colors you've got and how great it looks on the mini.

I want to paint my Aleph like Helghans from shadow fall with greys, black, and oranges. By chance, do you have any tips to spare?

Sandmann - yeah, they are done with the same colors, think I just ran out of ideas and went with what I knew! Ill change the hair colors on the next lot though.

Hushrong - Had to google what they were but I can see the similarities now! Well the way I did they greys was just a series of dark washes over a white undercoat. I built up more layers in areas I wanted darker, such as along the spine. Orange was just built up from a dark red through to yellow with lots of gradual highlights and a deep brown/red wash. If you wanted to make the orange areas look like they're glowing id recommend going even brighter, all the way to white maybe. Perhaps add some gloss varnish as well? Experiment!

Finished another miniature, this time a Spektr. Went for a darker stealthy look using mostly greys and a bright contrasting turquoise. Not massively sold on it just yet but I think i'm warming to it. What do you guys think of it?

Sorry for the shoddy pictures this time round.

As always comments and criticisms more than welcome!

Cheers

Looks cool! The glowy things on his back remind me of the health-indicator in Dead Space :)
You could maybe pick his equipment such as pouches, knife etc. in a different color, to differentiate it from the armor?

The spektr looks great! The dark colors and that light turquoise really pop!

Also, where are those bases from? Is it a piece of scenery glued onto the base itself?

Thank you for the tip! While I do like the studio paint job of Aleph, mostly white armor does not come off as being tactical. Plus, I want to try something a little divergent from that scheme for a shady organization. I am going to give the washes to build up grey a try! If I can get my boys and girls looking close to this (http://es.ign.com/pictures/articles/10059/138365.jpg) I'll be a happy camper. Thanks again!

Sandmann - Well spotted, always liked the aesthetic from that game and wanted to try add a small nod to it with at least one model.

Hushrong - The bases are from Micro Arts, I think they're called warehouse bases, or something similar. Make sure you post some pictures of your Aleph, always nice to see more Infinity models.

Im just working on a another Alguacil right now so nothing too exciting but after that i've got an Interventor coming and hopefully she should provide some interesting new painting challenges so stay tuned.

Cheers

Chew.

Good job with the minis.

I like the 'glow' effects.
