View Full Version : Scibor mech, too small for a Knight?

Hi there lads and lasses. I was just looking at some possible alternatives to the new knights. The models themselves are nice but I just think they're overly expensive and almost out of scale for a six by four table, eight by six it might just fit.

Anyway, I was looking at the Scibor Gladiator Mech suit. It's 115mm tall but stands on a fairly lofty resin base. Anyone any experience with these models? Are they too titchy to be Knights?

about 95mm short.

A knight stands 210mm? Holy moly. 21cm?

8 inches tall. 203 mm, so not quite 95mm short.

The GW site says 8", which is 20.32cm. So really quite a lot bigger than the scibor gladiator.

The knight does cost a lot of cash, but in a way it's not all that bad in terms of pounds/points. You can easily pay 30 for a 150 point model, like a leman russ or a wave serpent, so a knight is kind of a scale-up. An army with a knight in it probably costs roughly the same as an army with something else instead for the same points. The really expensive models are things like broadsides or eldar jetbikes. Those cost loads of money/point.

From a modeling standpoint go with what you like, that thing is pretty slick looking. But if you plopped it down as a proxy for an Imperial Knight it would definitely raise a few eyebrows in our group primarily due to the scale/basing dimensions being way off.

Yeah, even on the base the scibor mech stands at most 6" tall. I think Ill be breaking open the piggy bank. :)

If I was gonna use it I'd obviously stick the resin base on the correct size oval.

First time I've seen the knights (I've been busy at work). Damn are they ugly, I wouldn't complain if you fielded the scibor thing against me, purely because it would mean that my eyes didn't bleed during the game.

What do you think of the Leviathan Crusader from Dreamforge? Available in two sizes, the big 8,5" seems to be about 75 in Europe. Don't remember the size and price of the smaller one.

its cheaper to get the Knight with the P&P of sending the Dreamforge in UK. I believe GW ships for free at that price?

I know. And it seems a lot bigger than the GW imp Knight.

So, it seems the imp knight is actually 6" tall. I think I'll chance the scibor mech after all!
