This is a small plog of my Infinity Miniatures and Terrain

If you like Infinity and haven't seen Plasticfrogs Morat log (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?383357-INFINITY-The-Morat-Aggression-Force-Sectorial-Army) check it out. Its inspired me to start my own plog.

Our club has a growing Infinity crowd so I hope to show some Bat reps as well as minis.

So here's something to get you started, A finished Hsien, and a WIP Sophotect

*Just noticed a bent sword :~( if your familiar with my samurai plog (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?384327-quot-Those-beneath-the-flag-quot-samurai-skirmish-Ronin-rules-from-Osprey) you'll know bent swords are a bug bear for me

Thank you Hushrong, I hope to get a batrep up soon

Thank you Plasticfrog, they haven't been menacing to my opponents so far :(

Small update.

Had a lot of satisfying painting time, practising my wet-blending. A few highlights and the weapon to do and the Sophotect is ready for the table.

She's coming along nicely!

Wet-blending is something I need to try out more. I think I see it on the ring around here but I am also wondering if you did wet-blending for the grey on her legs? Got any tips for it? I will be painting a lot of my stuff with grey when time comes and want to try out a few different ways of painting it.

thank you hushrong. yes i blended codex grey (old name) and incubi darkness. check out youtube for guides and consider using a wet palette.

Thankyou JT, its my favourite model so far. sopohtect is an Aleph member that can be taken in the ISS sectorial.

this weeks update is my pheasent rank imperial agent.

Small update. Finished my Sophotect, and starter Celestial Guard. I have a celestial Guard with spitfire ready to prime and im converting a celestial guard hacker.

Also ready for next update are some Kuang Shi and a Su Jian and Bao team are on my painting desk. I was also feeling flush this month so bought myself my first battlefoam bag :)

As you may have guessed i'm kinda liking this game.

Still looking good! Definitely interested in the hacker you are converting up. What did you use to sculpt that arm?

I am also curious about the battlefoam bag. I've been using a BF Black Label case for my stuff but I may need to get another bag in the future for TAGS and Bikes.

Thanks guys, I shall do a review of my bag this weekend, after its first outing :)

Hushrong the arms are from the amazon warriors box (http://www.wargamesfactory.com/webstore/legacy-of-the-greeks/amazon-warriors) from wargames factory. A nice kit (with lots of bits) I bought for my Heroquest collection.

Quick update.

Finally finished the mobility form of my Su Jian last night. I would like to do the combat form but just thinking about putting it together scares me :(

I noticed this when painting my own, but Celestial Guard keep reminding me of Ninja turtles, especially with the green colour scheme. I like the colours on the Hsien; very nice.

The Su Jian looks awesome! That model and the Oniwaban is what drew my attention to Infinity.

The other form is a bit tricky to build. That's frankly due to small bits like the toes on the foot and what not. Of course...the fella wouldn't look so terrible if you forgo them.

Thank you Poseidal, I like it too. I think I will paint my invincibles in the same colour (I cant wait for the new sectorial)

Update

Im going to a tournament in Birmingham June 1st so I have done a fair bit of painting. The weather was bright this weekend so in between the BBQs I took a few snaps.

Also, how's the infinity bag/case working for you?

Nice! Only the orange accents on the Gui Feng look a bit harsh, but maybe it's the picture?

How did you do the bases for the Sophotect and her yudbots?

The bag is awesome. I fit everything I currently have in one tray. So plenty of room for more models :)

Only down point is its a little odd to carry. Being box shaped, its impossible to shoulder it over your head on opposite shoulder, so it swings around your side on the same shoulder and can feel a little awkward. But if I have a hand free its very comfortable to hold it by the handle. However Im usually walking to club with a big box of extra terrain, for reasons I dont think I need to explain.

Thanks for the compliments, I currently have a shang ji invincible and another invincible (MR) is on my wish list.

Your right, I have gone back to this model and wet blended again. More pictures after the bank holiday.

The Sophotect and yudbots are the same method as the other bases* except I washed Nihilakh Oxide into the recesses.

*I dont think I have explained this, but the bases are in 3d. I cut up the plastic container from bakery pastry items. The Sophectect and bots are on Banana pie plastic container.(It may be a ruse to buy more lovely bakery items, but the wife doesn't seem to have caught on yet ;)

The BF case I have only has a handle so I don't even have the luxury of shouldering it! :p Is there good storage for dice, templates, and tokens? Maybe even A book?
I can also relate to the box'o'terrain. Luckily my LGS has a locker where I store mine as I am a bit hesitant to leave my MAS stuff out and about at the shop.

Yep, tonnes of room in the front pocket for books and large templates, and the left side pocket fits my tape measure, laser-pen tin and box of counters. There is a flat pocket on the right side but I am not currently using it for anything. Could fit the large and small flame templates I suppose?

I will try and take a picture tomorrow at the tournament.

Ok so i forgot to take a picture :(

The tournament was brilliant but I unfortunately came second to last :( I have learn't a lot about judging fire lanes and the importance of choosing a good deployment, particularly if your opponent has two tags O_O I also feel I have a much better grasp of the rules, our gaming group has been playing some fundamental rules very wrong..

I did get a nomination for best painted army though which made my day. Especially since last week I spent making a display board

Thanks :) That's very cool of you to say so. However it was only a "nomination" see the other nominations and winner In this blog (http://www.lead-rising.com/2014/06/uk-games-expo-2014.html)

I played the painting winners Aleph army in the first game, and it was the best game I've played so far. Really nice opponent, beautiful armies on a lovely Ice board. Wish I'd taken pictures :(

I also played the Morat army who was nominated, he surprised me with a second Tag and stomped me into Loss of Lieutenant turn one :(

A cool tournament in a great friendly and supportive atmosphere.

That's a great looking force there.

It's very encouraging to hear you had a fantastic tournament experience. I'm getting ready for my first Infinity tournament a few months away and I can only hope it will be as fun as yours.

Good job!

Very nice board and great to see the force altogether! I wish I could go to an event/tourney to see this game played firsthand by vets as I am sure there are things I am messing up in my group.

Any plans for what's next to come?

Thanks hushrong. I hope you get some event gaming in soon. Have you joined the Infinity forum? they have an events / tournaments section.

Next I have started a Tiger Soldier, which Im very pleased with, however the Primer I have used has had a nasty effect on the model surface (Gutted!)

Long over due Update.

I have decided I wanted some different basing options for my Yu Jing. After looking at a number of resin base types I have gone with these and here are my test models. I wanted a very light sandstone that would remind me of my visit to the Forbidden City. Ok, so they are lipped bases and this may cause some issues in the new rules, but the aesthetic was more important to me, and any issues can be ironed out easily before I play.

Steam_Giant

Since I don't have any plans to start a new faction, I was planning to just be a less attractive "cheerleader" for the Tale? :)

Darnok
07-08-2014, 16:59
"Less attractive"? Good man, you are underestimating your abilities. Why not join in with some JSA? It's not "a new faction", you could branch out into another sectorial and also use those parts in generic lists, and most important of all: we could enjoy the eyecandy you provide. Seriously, your painting is great, and it would be a great thing to have you around. :)

Steam_Giant
08-08-2014, 08:55
There are two JSA players in our group already.

However, i've never been one to stand up to peer pressure, so lets do this! (how can anyone resist a Vivi in trance mode)

I shall start the new Yu Jing Sectorial faction, starting with the Zu Rong and hope it gets enough releases for me to paint and join in.
