View Full Version : 2500pts High Elves

So I've been fiddling with a (kind of) MSU list which looks as follows:

2500 Pts - High Elves

1 Archmage, 305 pts
Book of Hoeth, Talisman of Endurance

1 Mage, 160 pts
Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Protection

1 Noble (BSB), 145 pts
Shield of the Merwyrm, Dawnstone

10 Archers, 100 pts

10 Archers, 100 pts

24 Spearmen, 255 pts FC

5 Ellyrian Reavers, 105 pts Bows+Spears (Champion)

5 Silver Helms, 115 pts

25 Phoenix Guard, 450 pts FC, Razor Standard

14 Swordmasters of Hoeth, 192 pts (Champion)

14 White Lions of Chrace, 212 pts FC

1 Frostheart Phoenix, 240 pts

1 Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower, 70 pts

1 Great Eagle, 50 pts

Total: 2499

Now the idea is to use the PG's as an anvil (duh!) and the SM and WL as hammers (if I can maneuver them properly...) The Eagle and Reavers are chaff/re-directors and the SH I'll probably use as hard chaff or as flankers. Now I could go 2x14 SM with champion in each and remove the WL or I could remove some spearmen to bump the WL up to 15.

The big big plus of this list (for me) as it stands is that I'll only have to invest in 10 PG and only have to paint them, 10 archers and a mage and an eagle to be able to play with a fully painted army.

Please tell me what you think, is there anything vital missing, should i go for bigger special units e.g 20-25 SM?

Thanks in advance

I am not a high elves player but as I see it white lions are better in larger blocks than the swordmasters because they only have one attack each so none are wasted by being supporting. so perhaps consider dropping the number of swordmasters and increasing the number of white lions.
