The big bastion wars collection is out but I just noticed it has no introduction by Henry Zou

odd any idea why?

There was some bad PR over Zou and Black Library back then, wouldn't surprise me if that's got something to do with it

Can you be more specific? What was problem with Zou?

One of his novels, Flesh and Iron I think (not sure of the title), was found to be plagiarised from an existing war memorial by a military veteran or some such. There was a LOT of bad PR about it and one of the reasons why Henry Zou no longer writes for BL.

Are the books any good? I bought all three, but never got round to reading them, and then the plagiarism thing happened and it put me off even more.

I snapped up the trilogy super cheap online. From what I gather it's pretty badly written but it features the inquisition so I will give it a read.

Well Blood Gorgons are released two years after so this is where confusion comes.

I liked them a lot when I read them.

A great trilogy regardless of all the negitive hype. From memory the issue was with a three or four line paragraph in flesh and iron.

I guess the concern is, if you copied that paragraph (and it took a while for people to notice), what else have you copied? Inspiration/imitation/satire/homage are one thing, but plagiarism is decidedly Not Cool however you look at it.

Did they change that part in the Omnibus?

Blood Gorgons was a good read, I recommend it.

Didn't they also stop doing Author's notes in the front after ADB's note in Emperor's Gift?

The Eldar Path omnibus has a foreword, and that got released only a few months ago. While AD-B's Emperor's Gift and I think Void Stalker are exceptions in terms of individual novels with author's notes, Omnibuses usually get them.
