View Full Version : Cast The Warhammer World...

If you could cast any actor today as a Warhammer character, who would you get to play them?

If Warhammer ever becomes a big-budget movie, televised series like Game of Thrones or even low-budget animated web series.

Not likely to ever happen, but just for fun. Here's my suggestions:

Mark Strong as Volkmar.

Rufus Sewell as Karl Franz.

Billy Connolly as Malakai Makaisson

Peter Stormare for Konrad von carstein (Love this guy!)

Yeah, I'm basically trying to get the whole of the Vikings cast, but so what? They're bloody good actors.

Oh yeah, and Clancy Brown should probably be playing someone. Possibly Egil Styrbjorn or something.

I'd probably cast him as the entire Goblin race, and edit it badly so it's utterly obvious that each and every Gob is just him wearing a slightly different nose (you would, of course, never see the front of two different Goblins at the same time).

I would prefer that a Warhammer movie was animated and hope they get the voice acting right.

I really hated the magical duel between Gandalf and the Witch King in the second Hobbit movie, but I think that sort of thing is perfectly okay in a Dragon Ball episode.

Otherwise....

HBO did a violent comic-book Spawn adaptation back in the 90's. And there are plenty of grim dark anime out there- Hellsing, Devil May Cry, etc.
So a Warhammer animation could work.

Anyway. Another one- Cary Elwes (Princess Bride) as Detlef Sierck.

Not sure who could play Genevieve, though.

Mark Strong as Volkmar.

I'd like Mark Strong to be in there somewhere, but he doesn't strike me as a Volkmar. Volkmar is a religious fanatic leading armies of flaggelants, Mark Strong is more a sophisticated villain. He's pretty no-nonsense. I think a Von Carstein would actually quite suit him. His role as satanist lord in the first Sherlock film isn't that far removed from that.

He could voice Mazdamundi, or I could see him as Grand Hierophant Khatep.

Arkhan the black should be played by Hugo Weaving and since Travis Fimmel was clearly based on the Valten miniature, he should probably get that role.

^^ Not necessarily. Just because they speak with an english accent, doesn't make them english: Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, 300, Braveheart, Troy, Lord of the Rings, Solomon Kane, Rome, etc.

All used multiple actors from all around the world in a historical/ fantastical setting.

And Felix is such an iconic germanic fantasy hero, I just think it would be more fitting.

As a pragmatist I'd probably try to think what the plot was going to be and what characters needed to be in it then pick those actors.

Sigmar's Blood and the End Times story arc would probably make for a fine film series.

Though Kurt Helborg has to be Viggo Mortensen.

"He's a minor character we can't afford to hire Viggo for that role. Make the role bigger, he's the Grandest Grand Master. Have you seen his mustache?"
