I have decided to do a modelling diary of my Sigmarites.....the plan is to build 2250 pts army using Arch Lector as general, 3 warrior priests and a heap of peasants plus some flagellants.......

First off this is my first warrior priest- I converted a Brettonian man at arms champ....I used a maruader head plus some empire militia arms which i put a dwarf hammer head on the halberd pole....i plan to add his holy tome which I am making, all the priests will have one hanging from a chain....

here is the first book....i need to do the spine as yet....the cover is a goblin shield cut up

Here is the start of the arch lector....I have used a empire knights torso and arms and put a dwarf hammer head on a pole form the cannon....the head is from the old chaos warriors box with a nice big scar cut into the left side of his face......(dont worry the mould lones will be scraped off and the right hand tidied up....)

I am scratch building the lower body using some knights feet and greenstiff this is it so far with the torso balancing on top to give you an idea

He will also get a holy tome hanging by a chain plus some sigmarite icons hanging form his yet to sculpted belt....the kilt isnt finished I have some carved and shaping to do, so he wont look like he is wearng bloomers!....i am arming him with the icon of magnus, holy relic and great hammer so i thought about using an old zombie hand and hanging it from his belt- kind of a relic, the dessicated hand of a Sigmarite saint perhaps.....

Anyways thats it for now I shall update as i go.....

First Update:

I decided that the first Warrior Priest would now be the first model in my converted unit of Acolytes...games wise they will be Greatswords......all bald headed with a hammer....here is the command

And the Brother Captain or champion by himself

Here is the arch lector cleaned up a bit and posed how I may base him....complete with dead Ungor at his feet with its face caved in by a large warhammer...

He killed an ungor? He must be the strongest empire soldier ever!!!

Seriously, dead enemies on bases = not good. Does he drag it round to all his battles so he has something to stand on? I'd go with a rock with maybe a mutated looking skull on it (the one with horns from the chaos warrior box).

This isn't against yours in particular i just don't like dead people on bases.

I look at an army as a whole snapshot in time....when set up on their display base they look the goods....but you have a good point and perhaps i will rethink it......

Here is a few piccies of the arch lector leading the acolytes.....most of the acolytes arent finished... a few have no heads!!!

looking alot better, thought he still seems uncomfortable holding that hammer over his sholder, hes not even holding it, i recommend editing that, apart form that, all looks good, legs are looking alot better, his cloak i assume it still being worked on too? as its a little flat
