After painting for some years my high elf army in blue and withe colour scheme I tougth that i need more original minis for my army.

The first step was to decide a theme... ummmm, ok, i like a lot of infantry and mi favorite unit of that are the sworsmasters of hoeth so... Saphery is perfect for me.

The archer regiment was the first i made for this army and we can say i used them as a test for the rest of the models. Only the standard bearer is a little bit more detailed than the rest of the archers. The nmm is poor in this models but for a tests is not that bad, and i want to paint a lot of them.

The pics of the archers.

The second unit i paint were the swordmasters of hoeth and i wanted to give them something special so i converted few of them.

Also, i choose the cygnus as one of the symbols (and the moon) in the army.

The main problem with the common chariot that gw sells is that the high elf steed are not as good as I want. So, i converted some of the new wood elves steeds.

The crew of the chariot is also converted and I take only one because I think the chariots are elite troops ang a guy with two atacks... well, itīs better with this idea than two elves in only one chariot. I gave her a Shapey aspect too.

So, here are the pics:

The spearmen regiment was made from the metal lother seaguar minis and green stuff.

I think i wil paint and convert a total of 16 elves but who knows...

On the other hand, I can see what the strange point with the silver nmm but i wanted to seems like an strange or magical metal (like ithilmar) so i tryed to make it to look as if the ligth seems nothing for him. Perhaps i can repaint some parts of a mini if i see that the metal is to strange (as in the standard bearer)

Now, iīm sculpting a Saphery war altar (lileathīs war altar) which is nearly finised but i think i will paint the rest of the spearmen before posting it or maybe not...

Wow, very pretty. Me gustan muchisimos, son muy, muy, MUY bonitos.

You have a lot of skill. I would love to see you paint a dragon or something of equal stature.

Wow! Allthough I tend to hate all things elven I must say that theese look really, really nice.

The only thing I dislike is the use of SENMM on some of the swords (both champs). I have never seen anyone successfully use this technique on swords held vertically. But thats just a minor complaint. Great overall apperance!

beautiful. I'm always happy and have a lot of respect for people who take time over their models.

Those are some very nice looking High Elves, Juza. I love the colour scheme it looks fantastic. Great paint job as well through out the entire army. I really like the NMM on the various metal areas. The freehand on the banners is superb as well. I am looking forward to seeing some more updates.

i love it- especially the flame motif on all the models, it must be quite unique.

These look great. I was wondering what the kit the owl is from or is it all hand done?

These remind me of Jonas Ekestam's (sp?) eldar army.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Great figures and lovely subtle conversions. Are the swans on the banners from another kit or sculpted?

Thanks for the replays

The owl is from a wood elves sprue, dryads i think..

The banners, the extra details, and maybe, all the things you canīt recognize were made with green stuff.

And answering Melchiah... the wizard is a surprise and will be a centre piece in the army. A lot of green stuff, plasticard, etc etc, pics soon.

This will be the war altar of Saphery.

As I said before was made from plasticard, das pronto and a lot of green stuff. In the middle step of the statue i will put the old teclis miniature which will be a kind of centre piece of the army.

Well, the pics...

Yep i'd say that just about qualifies as a centre piece for an army :) very nice indeed but out of sheer noseiness what did you use for the armature?

Beautiful army, very nice. Centre piece is good, tho the legs do look a bit long

It's an Elf. Long legs are part of the image. I'm a bit concerned of the non-clothed idea, though. It looks more Dark Elf och Wood Elf than High.

Great work, none the less.

Very nice stuff and good choice in changing out the old High Elf steeds for the WE ones.

Remember the first Teclis model by Jes Goodwin? Its very reminiscent of the 'lady' on top of his staff.............:D

I remember it, and it looked more Slaanesh than Elvish back then too... :eyebrows:

I think it couldīt be more elvish. You only need to see teclis, as inquisitor Kallus said, my inspiration came from this mini.

Of course, this is only my opinion, but if it was an slaanesh statue you will see more leather, skulls and sadomaso stuff.

In addition of this, you can read a little bit of elven religion in asur.org:

"Lileath
Goddess of Dreams and Fortune

Description: Lileath is also sometimes known as the Maiden. She is the Goddess of Dreams and Fortune and is a popular deity amongst the High Elves of Ulthuan. Lileath is supposed to be the giver of dreams to all Elves; those that have pleased her receive pleasurable dreams whereas those that have upset her receive nightmares. She is chiefly worshipped by Elven seers and soothsayers. Lileath the Maiden is portrayed as a gloriously beautiful Elven maiden with pure white, flowing garments of shiny gossamer and in her right hand she carries the Staff of Lileath. The goddess is also sometimes depicted as having beautiful white wings like an angel.

Symbol: The most popular symbol depicted is that of a winged Elven angel. Sometimes the angel holds two knives above her head. Mage-Priests of Lileath wear robes of white and grey in varying shades..

Temples: Temples to Lileath are always magnificent in design and construction. Although many of them follow the typical High Elven design some take the form of pyramids and cannot be distinguished from temples of Asuryan. When one walks into a temple of Lileath he is struck by the smell of burning incense. This is meant to symbolise the dreams of Lileath and some even claim that those of pure heart can see into the future by looking into the smoking curls of incense."

Alright, then. It's your project, and you've obviously read up on background I didn't knew existed. Keep it going, I like the army a lot. :)

However, it says in your text that she's portrayed wearing garments... :p ;)

Itīs still a WIP, i will paint a wizard (the old teclis, the everqueen or a green stuff wizard) but you can see a little bit of the work here.

I don't see any reason why such a culturally advanced race as the High Elfs wouldn't make beautifull (nude) statues of gods and heroes of ages past. It's just another way of depicting the (near) perfection of all these mythical beings.

Great effort there, I really like your work. It's especially nice to see an Elf army that totally breaks with the white/blue/silver look that's all too common!
